Today on the show, Faust talks about the History of Dick Grayson, the first Robin to Batman, and the first Nightwing. He was also the leader of the Teen Titans, The Titans, The Outsiders, he was the Batman that trained Damian Wayne, and has been featured in shows such as The Teen Titans, Young Justice, and even Batman the Animated Series.

"Richard John Grayson is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman. Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane, he first appeared in Detective Comics #38 in April 1940 as the original incarnation of Robin. In Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (July 1984) the character retires his role as Robin and assumes the superhero persona of Nightwing, created by Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez.
The youngest in a family of Gotham City acrobats known as the "Flying Graysons", Dick watches a mafia boss kill his parents in order to extort money from the circus that employed them. Batman (Bruce Wayne) takes him in as a legal ward (retconned as an adopted son in some cases) and the crime-fighting partner Robin. He is written by many authors as the first son of Batman.[2] As well as being Batman's crime-fighting partner, Dick establishes himself as the leader of the Teen Titans, a team of teenage superheroes. As a young man, he retires as Robin and takes on his own superhero identity to assert his independence, becoming Nightwing. As Nightwing, he continues to lead the Teen Titans and later the Outsiders. In the first volume of his eponymous series (1996-2009), he becomes the protector of Blüdhaven, Gotham's economically troubled neighboring city, the locale the character is most closely associated with. He has also been depicted as protecting the streets of New York, Chicago, and Gotham City over the years." - Wiki

Also side note - the story with Mirage, by modern standards, would count as Mirage raping Dick, BUT that is not how the story portrays that situation, and as a result I did not portray it like that in this video. *Dick Grayson:* First Son, Alpha Legacy Hero, possibly greatest side kick to ever live, O.G. Boy Wonder... I have been a fan of his since I was a kid, and even if Tim Drake maybe the most _well rounded_ Robin, in my opinion, Grayson was, is an always _will be_ the Best. This video was sublime; well researched and nciely done. I kind of wish you would have gone into how well respected Nightwing is by both heroes *and* villians, his most lusted after hero status, his occasional playboy tendencies, and how both Kory _and_ Babs are both the loves of his life in their own way [Kory Heart & Spirit; Babs Mind & Long term] as well as his legacy with his [possible] daughter Nightstar and how he will train Terry McGinnis, but over all, this was excellent. Continue to kick ass, my man

The story presented it as cheating. I present these videos in a way that the original writers and story intended, its not my opinion. The writer of the story wanted it to come across as a "cheating" situation. It sucks, and is gross that someone would view non consensual sex as cheating, but it wasn't me that wrote it, and its not my place to alter the intention of the story. I explain that in the pinned comment to this video.

How is it cheating if it's non consensual sex? Dick didn't know that he was making love to Mirage when she was disguised as Kory. Dick did admit to Kory that he was thinking with his hormones instead of his head.

I guess I'm a big believer in death of the author which is why the whole "the writer intended it to be consensual" is a weak and quite unhelpful argument. When this happened to Dick again in the whole Tarantula fiasco the writer said she intended it to be non-consensual not rape. Yeah seriously her words were, "I didn't say it was rape I said it was non-consensual". To me the writers intentions means zilch. Whether or not that INTENDED to write a rape scene doesn't change the fact that they wrote a rape scene. What an artist feels doesn't change reality or the law. By the way, I know this comment may sound hostile upon reading but I honestly don't mean it to come across that way. I guess I just get so frustrated when we come across things in our culture that we just ignore or say, "it was just the attitude back then". Especially when it comes to sexual violence against men as there is already a wall of silence and shame even more reinforced that it is for women. @@ItsSuperEffective

That cheating with Barbara is a retcon in Nightwing, Volume 2, Annual 2 which was published in 2007. Dick and Kory were each other's love interests from 1980 to 1994. Therefore, the retcon annual was published 13 years after Dick/Kory was broken up. Dick and Barbara never shown any interest in each other when Dick and Kory were each other's love interests during that period. There was no story about Dick sleeping with Barbara the night before his wedding with Kory which was shown in that 2007 retcon annual. That retcon was done to elevate Dick/Barbara at the expense of degrading Dick/Kory. It made all three look bad though.

This is a lot different then the animated series'. I think i prefer the movies and the animated series'. but it was interesting too know the origin and i rejoiced many things from the animation. It was fun to watch this video.

You said nothing major between Bruce's return and New 52, but wasn't Black Mirror during this period? Or was it before Bruce's return? Also, I really love the arc when he and Damian had to work with Jason to find out who was targeting the latter. ^^I think this arc was important for the both of them, because I really think that Jason had a real impact on Dick and the way he is as Batman. First off, because it's the incident of Jason trying to be Batman, more than Tim's insistance that convinced Dick to become Batman. And also because after that, I think that every encounters between Dick and Jason (granted, there weren't many) are all important for the growth of both characters. But maybe I'm just feeling that because they're my two favourite Bat-Family members ah ah ah Anyway, thanks for this video, it was very cool. =D
