This is the best explanation of this knot that I've seen. Thanks.

Nice video - some knot vids are hard to see because of poor angles etc. This was perfect. Thanks

Great video. How strong is this knot? Will it come apart on the load side easily?

Great demonstration. Really simplifies the tying of this knot. I don't mean to be picky but at 1:10 surely it's the working end you make a bight with not the standing end? Otherwise superb. I have subscribed to see more. Oops, sorry. I see you corrected that later in the video!

Is this a knot that could be used to recover a repelling line after you've reached the bottom? Seems like you would want more security on the knot pull through. Is there such a knot?

+jermlac I've been looking for the same kind of knot-answer for the past year...to no avail. I hate the idea of having to carry a 100ft line just to scale down a 50ft cliff.

You didn't say how short you wanted it

It does not answer the question what it should or should not be used for. Just showing the knot is only marginally useful IMO.

Torsten Curdt it is used for tying a horse to a hitching rail, a boat to a dock...which he mentioned.

I want to tie my horse to a hitching rail. And I don't want her to be able to pull loose. On the other hand, I need to be able to release it quickly if I need to.
