The ATV one is the Normal. The CTV one is a marimba of speed. The Grampian one is the Normal. The Granada one is the Grampian of speed. The LWT one is the Normal. The Scottish one is lowered pitch. The Thames one is the Normal.

If ATV hadn't been messed about with at the end of 1981 and Lee Grade was still in charge, there would have been a very different outcome as to who would have bought LWT. Him.

ACC had made heavy hints before then about wanting ownership of *Thames*. In any case, Grade's fate was sealed by the ill-fated AFD films venture and the mistake of trusting Robert Holmes a'Court. Nothing to do with ATV; ACC would've probably retained ownership of the 51% of Central had Court not launched his takeover bid.

I’m not an expert on the history of the independent ITV regional companies, but I’m glad I grew up in the 70s/80s and have the fond memories of jingles before each programme and quality television compared to today’s offerings of complete shit!
