This guy was flying back to his home country East Timor, flights typically transit over Dubai. East Timor uses USD and there's hardly any card or credit card machines, every body uses cash, it's a third world country. I know this because I recognise the language and I am from that country. He has been working hard and saved that money to go back to support his family. But somehow these officers didn't question these basic questions and even thought of seizing his money. Yes he was wrong for not admitting the correct amount but they used their authorities to scare and surround him like a bunch of bullies instead of using constructive questioning and respect. He probably has been keeping those shoes for this special day 😂

These poor hard working normal people can be manipulated, threatened and forced to put themselves at risk to carry cash over borders for criminals. These checks reduce those occurrences, protect individuals, expose networks and aid larger investigations... and the border force aren't responsible to fraud prevention in big companies. 😂

Yes, he did put on a very good show. With an income of only 200 pounds a month,a self-paid ticket, no clue how much he had (how on earth did he withdraw 4000 US$ without knowing?), not able to explain just about anything, he was very, very lucky the officers let him go.

You just need to declare it if you are carrying more then 10k , usually then provide evidence that it was earned legally. Most countries have the same thing if you are entering with over 10k

If it was from cash in hand jobs then almost certainly he had not paid tax on it as all the rest of us have to pay on our wages. What makes him special? Also the fact that he was so obviously lying about how much he had and where it came from, plus had been doing this run before on a 200 quid a week salary smelled higher than a pigsty. I've no doubt that the tears and fears act was quite real though. The folks waiting at the other end for their cash mule are not people you'd want to cross!

They check amounts over about 10k because cash is often smuggled across borders as precedes of crime. And end of the day you want to travel internationally across borders you get to follow that countries rules and yeah most countries have rules for declaring cash. This happened to me before I had 20 thousand dollars and my wife had 10thousand , they said to me this is to much to carry in person , and they asked me for bank receipts and I showed them the receipt when I withdrew the money from Miami bank before coming London cause I am visiting my sister and then am going to Phuket with my wife and kids , there was fucking congregation there 10thousand question , I sat for an hour , and I finally got tired and I said to them I don’t even wanna come in your country now , like I said to them. Let me change my flight and go straight to Thailand cause my kids were sleeping on chairs while these fools look for every reason to take my money then they said we checking if you have sister meanwhile my sister is inside the fucking airport waiting for me , this one lady even got triggered that I was upset that they were doing there job I said I sat in a fucking plane to come now I am sitting here proving to you am not a criminal, why do I need to do that when I am not even gona use this money here , bro those people in England don’t even know what 100k dollars look like they get shocked when they see big money

Yep. You can take any amount of money out with you - provided it was legitimately gained and any applicable taxes have been paid on it. Pretty easy for most folks to show their pay slips or details of property sales. Of course those of us who have paid our taxes will be quite happy for any little alimentary orifice crimo who is seeking to spirit his ill-gotten gains out of the country to get a right kicking.

Clearly up to no good and i supect the persons he was carrying it for had others on the same flight too which was why he was looking round. Who doesn't know how much money they are carrying on them unless its not theirs. Also how does someone earning £200 a week save £5500 to take back home especially when the last time they went they took £3800. Im always broke and earn way more than £200 a week. Rent bills tax ect. No fking way he saved that.
