The one thing I remember about this album is how it hit on all cylinders. It was hood, it was party music, it was lyrically great and the beats were slamming. I can see how even someone today can pick this up for the first time and it can become one of their favorite albums.

There was also a Marvin Gay interpolation in the song from 'Inner City Blues" (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a52JntliqZbVdXk.html). Dre used the baseline from 'Inner City Blues' in the way-before-its-time classic, 'The Formula' with The D.O.C (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLOcgM2Zs7bRg3U.html)

Even though this album was highly anticipated on the streets, the industry and critics thought this would be a flop. On release I remember it sold out within hours, every record store was cleaned out.

This is Snoop’s cousin Daz Dillinger on the beat, also this was a freestyle that snoop was rapping on this song.

Suge started that with the Daz really did the beats stuff, trying to take shots at Dre and even Daz came out and said Dre did the beats and it wasn’t until Dogg Food and Murder was the Case that he did the beats. He had done some engineering work on Doggystyle but didn’t do any of the songs.
