i do agree, that she fits itzy's style the least BUT for me personally, Lia's appearance and charm in "not shy" was the only reason i started listening to itzy in the first place.

I was about to start fighting. Great click-bait, lol. I am so tired of people saying that Itzy is better without Lia. People say that, yet when they hear their ballads or slower songs, Lia gets the most lines. Her stage presence may not be as strong as Ryujin's and her dance may not be like Chaeyoung's, but thats okay. People see her getting better and grow each comeback in dancing, yet when they do they still call her a bad main vocalist just to have something to complain about. I hope Lia is recovering and the rest of the girls are doing okay.

Itzy really looks so empty without her..

Lia's voice makes Itzy's songs like 30% prettier than they are otherwise. Chaeryoung is a "better" singer in the sense that kfans rate singers -- stability, upper extension, that kind of thing. But Lia has one of the prettier voices in kpop, that is a huge asset. It's a massive contribution and makes a pretty major difference to their sound. She may be the worst dancer in Itzy but it's not like she's the worst dancer in kpop. If she was in a group that's less dance-focused like Ive for instance, she'd be middle of the pack in dancing ability. Really sad to see her taking her hiatus. Not surprising though, I've been wondering for a year plus whether she might quit the industry early with all the hate she gets. My gut says she never comes back.

ITZY needs Lia. Yes, Lia is not the best dancer but we already have 4 best dancers. JYPE had successfully cover her up so far. They know what to do. The losing of Lia have a great hit to other aspects of the group. Lia is the number one girl in interviews, and it is not only about her English. It is about her stand point. Ryujin has a strong personality. Yuna has an image to maintenance. Yeji is pretty straight forward and CY is fun only in a subtle way. Lia is definitely the one who makes an interview interesting, be it comedy or not. She makes the little clips relaxing and enjoyable after a tense day of work.

I had my guns ready, i'm telling you! Edit: It really bothers me that LIA is not in the new comeback, because they really brought a great concept, and a great song too! About the comeback being huge, it's just a shorter that usual mini album, with solo songs added as an extra. So, it's not really a problem. Moreover, she'll have her own solo in the tracklist. I just wished she was going to be featured in the era: vocals, music videos, photoshoot. And, just skipped the promotion (like Jeongyeon for example, and many other idols).

Someone finally said this!! Lia is literally main vocalist she never needed to be a perfect dancer for the group, she is undoubtedly best vocalist in itzy. itzy songs without Lia's voice is dull. Despite all that, she worked hard to come to itzy's level dancing with all the hate and never let others down i have the biggest respect for her.

Itzy needs a main vocalist. Without her they all just scream. Lia fills an important role in vocals, not to mention her dancing is fine. She’s elegant and offers a different image to Itzy which is needed.

Lia was my first bias in the group because of her amazing vocals, kind personality, and everything amazing about her. Honestly, she may not be the best dancer but she brings so much more to the group. Plus, I feel like people only think she's a bad dancer because she's in ITZY. Her dance skills are much better than mine and she is a good dancer. She's just not quite as good as the other four dancing machines. We love Lia, and people need to stop hating her.

I agree, Lia is a decent dancer but vocally underrated. Put it this way, you can't be dancing and balloting at your full vocal strength at the same time. It's like asking to twisting yourself right and left at the same time, it can't be done. If your music is a dance song that has heavy choreo your going to keep your vocals short and simple so that you can do the dance. Unless your lipsyncing there is no way you can dance that hard and sing like Mariah Carey at the same time. Also what's the deal with expecting everyone to have Mariah's vocal? This is Kpop and not the opera, expecting high vocals on dances is dumb, even Mariah doesn't sing at her highest tones all the time. Lia's vocal are great, you want her to ballad listen to her song 'blue flower'. All this hate is stupid and just fake because some people can't give credit where it's due. I been hearing for ages 'ITZY can't sing', while it's a dance song video. You really lack rationality if you're going to expect vocal ballads on a dance song. ITZY is great when it's a vocal song, those are the ones where they aren't killing themselves doing dance moves we can only fantom. And Lia is a good dancer; on any other group she would be praised, being in ITZY and being able to keep up with 4 of the top dancers in Korea is no easy feat. Hope she recovers soon and comebacks kicking these negative people down.

Of the five of them, Lia is the least accomplished dancer. This dosent mean she is a bad dancer, its just relative to the other four. Lia is a joy to watch and has ZERO to be ashamed of. She is talented, charming, wonderful, and just as gorgeous as the others. For her to be able to perform and hold her own with her sisters should be appreciated and celebrated by everyone. Its a shame when haters feel a need to have to tear her down. Take Momo for example. Momo is the best dancer of Twice but the least accomplished singer; that dosent make her a bad singer. Lia has earned her place in ITZY and she is missed. I hope she comes back healthy and with a fire that screams "Kiss my A$$, you haters !".

Also, I always thought that Lia was the visual of the group but to my surprise people were giving that title Yoona even though Lia's visual is the most striking in my opinion

I still feel pretty bad for Lia, but what I don't understand what jyp is that he did not have to cut her out of the promotion I know she could not go to meet and greets I know she can do any live performance but they could have let her at least featured on the album and in the videos, I mean they did it with Mina and Jeongyeon from TWICE, They feature on the albums and in the videos they might have notthing to do with the promotion because of the anxiety and their, but in the end they didn't have to write their existence out completely, and with Lia from ITZY it seems like they decide to just ghost her out completely.

I made a Park Bom correlation about a year ago and practically screamed when you said it, too. ITZY is five. And they all like it that way. Until they say otherwise, we have no business tacking on extra expectations of each member outside of their position.

Itzy are family they are made up of five sisters that love each other. I love Lia's singing my favorite when she sang Blue Flower for Alchemy of Souls.

Lia's dancing is B+ to me. The other ITZY members are A+ to S tier in dancing ability. That's why Lia may look like she isn't good at dancing when she has to constantly perform difficult routines next to top tier dancers. Think about how much pressure she's had on her and how much mental fortitude it must take to keep going on stage knowing you're not born with the gift of dancing but have to dance tough, physical routines next to naturally talented and skilled dancers for years. It took a major toll on her mentality, on top of the constant online attacks from ITZY haters and even from some MIDZYs. The fact is, Lia is actually very good at dancing and keeps improving each year. She tries and works so hard to improve her only weakness but haters don't care and will always hate on, unfairly criticize, and bully her for any mistake she makes. I feel so bad for her. Lia is in my opinion, one of the best vocalists in Korea. Her voice isn't best suited for pop songs though and she can't belch out high notes with ease. But she still managed to sound great on all of ITZY's songs despite often being forced out of her vocal range. Lia deserves so much more recognition and praise for her vocal talent and versatility. She can sing so many different genres at a very high level. She can even rap really good too. Lia has the most beautiful, delicate, soothing, honey-like, emotional voice that's perfect for jazz, R&B, emotional ballads, soft rock, and OSTs. All 3 of Lia's OST songs are incredible. Her solo ITZY song Blossom is really great. The various cover songs Lia performed on shows are all spectacular and mesmerizing. I pray Lia can recover from whatever is ailing her and comes back better than ever. She's a wonderful, beautiful angel with so much talent that has a lot more great music to share with this world, whether it be with ITZY or by herself.

Finally! A video with someone who has a realistic, neutral, common sense take on an otherwise toxic community! I commend you on pointing out the overuse of "typical verbage", like "lazy", used in the K-Pop space that it eventually gets lost in what the word actually means. When videos are exhibited to point a lack of ability in a group, I feel like, instead of "lazy", it's probably personal issues off-stage, or things like uncomfortable wardrobe, forgetfulness (it happens), or other mental issues. But at the same time, people also need to understand that, YES, it is totally possible that an artist CAN be a bad dancer, singer, or both. If someone isn't very good, I'm not one to make up excuses - if you're not good then my opinion is that you're not good. Simple. However, it's up to the producers to design and choreograph a system that can cover those issues for the group.

Lia has been my bias since day 0 with ITZY. I followed them since their pre-debut Dalla Dalla stage that I saw on a Kpop channel when living in Japan. Lia’s vocal tone, charm and beautiful voice still makes me cry to this day in their sadder and softer songs. In their happier and stronger songs it adds allure and mystery and beauty, texture, feeling and colour to the vocals. Lia is not the best dancer in the group but she’s not expected to be she’s the main vocalist, as you say. She didn’t have the years of experience and training in dancing as the other members did. But if you watch any ITZY performance you can see Lia doesn’t stand out in a bad way in fact she caught my eye right away on that first stage for her gaze and poise and how she captivated the audience in such a charming and unique way. I’m a Lia bias and I love her vocals, dance style and personality. I also have anxiety and I feel for her. I wish people can be kinder to such a talented and kind and beautiful person as Lia. I love you Lia please take the time you need and take good care of yourself. I can’t wait to hear you sing again and shine on stage 💜✨💫

Ah, for me it is like.. Imagine you're about to make a cake. You bought the best fruits, made the best cream you've ever did, prepared stunning decorations and so on but you don't have flour. That is how itzy felt without Lia. You may not notice her when she is there most of times and enjoy other things in the 'cake'. But once you take her out you're not able to even make this 'cake'. She is the base, the connection between all of the ingredients. Her voice is what gives so much power and depth to the sound of the group. And i am glad people actually noticed it.

If Lia leaves, Yeji will be main vocalist. Now I'm not saying Yeji is bad, but she needs training. She is not a very good vocalist. Without Lia, Itzy have bad - mid vocals.

a lot of people don’t know lia has a background as a CONTEMPORARY dancer (there’s old videos online)… i’m not lying but she could easily take on all the girls in more milder/softer dances such as contemporary (maybe except chae tbh) and she has INSANE flexibility, the best in itzy which makes her very good for ballet too i think. it just so happens that the other 4 are better at harder/stronger choreos which is where lia lacks… and itzy’s whole brand is strong hip-hop like choreos so… but has anyone seen a ballerina dance some popping-locking?? a mess.. doesnt mean one’s better than the other, it’s just different genres!!!

KPOP STANS are the most disgusting fandoms in today's pop culture. I personally think that "ITZY" is a 5 member group, i saw "born to be" and it is really lacking something...LIA! I've never been so sure about a music group before, because i've never seen a music group before that actually looked so complete (visually, vocally, and chemistry). It saddens me to think maybe Lia is only taking a break because she's pressured to hide from the "super-aggressive" fandoms this group has attracted, and realistically-maybe Lia feels bullied because of it. The history of GG Kpop (specifically) has a statistical record of controversies; sexualizing minors, bad management, and bully-fans, just to name the obvious. I hate this, and sadly this will never change within the Kpop Industry. I hope Lia will get the true support from the other members and help her decide to come back. *fingers crossed*

I really enjoy Itzy’s latest release but it really does feel like something is missing. It’s already good but I imagine with Lia’s vocals the songs would be amazing! The group is most certainly incomplete without Lia, but I do think with usual promotions, JYPE has struggled to use the member's strengths and skills to their best capabilities. There are many problems with this, but the best example is in the vocal utilisation of the group, which I'll breifly touch on below. But in this comeback, because the group doesn't have Lia, JYPE is forced to utilise the members more accordingly to fill her gap and that's WHY the group sounds 'better'. Not because Lia is gone, but because JYPE is taking a different direction with this group that they should've done with Lia present as well. The other thing is Chaeryeong and Ryujin finally getting to shine vocally. It's just a shame it's come at the cost of Lia being on hiatus. Yeji and Lia have rich and deep, strong tones to them, and their comfortable range is lower than Yuna and Chaeryeong. But JYPE often has them do the high notes and chorus, causing them to strain their voices and make the song sound unpleasant. If Chaeryeong and Yuna were the ones doing the high notes and singing the chorus instead more often- like how Chaeryeong did in Mr Vampire- the songs might be more palatable for more people. Or, have the choruses and high notes turned down a notch or in a lower key, so that Lia and Yeji aren't straining their voices and shouting. There are many other aspects to this, such as line distribution, dance positons, rap, how the verses and hooks are used etc, but I won't delve into it. JYPE is the one to blame for people's disatisfaction with the group and it always pisses me off to see people blame the group and individual members when we know from comebacks like DALLA DALLA and WANNABE how great the group is when JYPE actually tries.

Yes, Lia may not be the best dancer in the group, but she has improved so much and is still so talented, I mean look at Dalla Dalla era vs. Not Shy era (she owned this era, no contest btw) vs. Cheshire era vs. Cake era. It is clear how much she improved and she can still keep up with the other members. The vocals also feel empty without her. I think that Yuna and Ryujin have great voices and I would love them to sing more, but definitely not at the expense of Lia not being in the song. She singlehandedly made me fall in love w/ ITZY. Honestly? I miss Lia's vocals. While Chaeryeong and Yeji did sound good inthe last album, the singing felt very... Amateur. Like I can tell they were struggling to sing their parts and did many takes. Lia's vocals are more stable and enjoyable in my opinion and ITZY is reallymissing inthat depratment. Also I don't like how the company themselves slowly replaced Lia's vocals with Chaeryeong. I'm happy for my bias, but I also want Lia to win like... Give her a high note ffs

She’s not lazy she just doesn’t put as much power into her dancing but it’s fine. I like how she dances she has an ephemeral quality. Some Kpop fans are a little too caught up in having their idols be all around perfect in an unrealistic way. I prefer when every member has their own unique quality and talent, that’s why they are a group. They each have things others lack. I also come from jpop where the point is to watch the girls grow and improve. If they are all perfect from the beginning what is there to cheer on? IMO: Lia is the best vocalist in her group. And in dance she's on the lowest level compared to her other members of ITZY. The only reason the difference is noticeable cuz the other members are just too good at dancing. I'm pretty sure Lia can take the main dancer position for a few groups (no hate to them) And like you said her voice is perfect for her group concept to the haters "why do you guys have such a high expectations? does your mom serves you dessert and spicy items and drinks in the same bowl?"

Lia was meant to be with itzy, instead it was Yuna who wasn't, Somi (soloist) was instead of Yuna but Somi left to join YG ent. Lia’s voice is the richest one in the group ,her tone is deep and rich meaning she can kill a r&b and jazz song which are more melodic, chill and full of runs, kpop is really fast and sharp, I would love to hear her covering some sza songs honestly, this also would be a great opportunity for jyp to create a blend of genre’s for itzy, I hope they dive into that when lia comes back

I pretty much agree with your sentiments all around here. Lia isn't an especially strong dancer and also lacks some of the seemingly effortless charisma and high energy that say.... Ryujin or Yuna seem to display without interruption from the second the camera starts. Lia has a bit of a moody vibe at times and sometimes seems like she has to remind herself to smile; but she also has the best, warmest eye smiles and overall, i feel like she is a net positive for Itzy just because she is Lia, she's adorable and has a great voice. This "Born to Be" comeback has been great, the girls are doing amazing as a 4-piece and because Lia took herself out of the game willingly, I'm not going to add comments lamenting her absence. They are best as 5 even if she isn't as strong of a dancer. I hope she comes back but i'm not holding my breath and Itzy will adapt and move forward either way.

i completely agree with this video. you spoke about everything in an objective and unbiased way. lia is still a vital asset to itzy no matter how much people wanna downplay it. it makes me sad that non midzys are trying to get involved and say they’re better without her; they’re not. i’ve been ulting since day 1 so seeing itzy as 4 for the past 3 months has felt really dismal. seeing people that don’t care about the group shouting that she should leave without second thought is upsetting, because lia has made it clear in the past she is the kind of person that takes things to heart and finds the hate itzy receives the hardest out of all the members. she is unproblematic and has never done anything to trigger other fandoms, people have just decided to pick on her because she’s an easy target.

Anyone can say whatever they want but Lia, for a FACT, can keep up with them, no matter how tiring, difficult and neck breaking. Dancing is not one of her skills but she is doing great with the other 4 dancers

To me, Itzy is different without Lia. Not better, not worst. Lia is a very talented vocalist, and from my perspective she shines when she sings songs that are meaningful to her. What keeps me a fan of Itzy is their variety show appearances and this is where you see how much Lia contributes and as many have said, is the glue of Itzy. I think whatever happens, Itzy has so much talent/stage presence they will be ok. Blossom broke my heart, because if this is how she feels, I just want her to heal. I hope Lia finds happiness and herself and if that’s not with Itzy, I will be sad, but I also will understand. Thank you for this video. I didn’t know I needed it.
