Here's everything you might have missed: 1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. IU uses sign language in the dinner table. 2) The cube (the director said it is called "nemo") represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities or those who are simply different (often considered as misfits) thus eliminating them. (the pile of clothes: The pile of clothes also reminds you of BTS "Spring day"MV which also features it) 3) However Love truly wins all. IU and V stayed together because of their true love. 3) The cam-recorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them. They would have get married happily. If you see the scene where IU was singing in the mic and Tae puts a flower on her ear, the people in the back were pointing fingers at them. 4) The scene where they are at the restaurant and the scene where she is on stage singing in her wedding dress, you can see how the people around covered in black are all pointing their fingers at Tae and IU (represents how harshly the world judges them especially in their happy moments) 5) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. But Tae loved her too. At the end of their life, he puts himself in front and tried to break the box. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love. 6) IU taps three times during the scene where he grabs her hand tightly which translates to "I love you" in sign language.

The character IU plays is deaf while V’s character is blind in one eye. The cube is hunting people with “defects”. IU and V are both singers and actors, but IU has been in way more dramas than V has. V hasn’t acted since 2016 because he wanted to focus on his career in BTS, so I’m glad to see him acting again. He’s got such a talent for it despite his minimal experience. If it was the end of the world, I’d probably accept my fate. I’m not really scared of what comes after. As long as I die peacefully, that’s really all that matters.

U produced and did the lyrics. her mvs always have deeper meaning. There's a sign when they first come in to the place when they find the camcorder that reads " " RISE FOR ALL" ...think thats a social commentary for the oppressors and for state of world , esp. these days. Most missed that sign..cause IU and V are so captivating. lol IU can't speak and V cant see out one eye... cube is like hate/society projections.Maybe we have to start standing up for love and for others discriminated or oppressed? I feel IU and V have seen so much of how South Korea media, police and citizens can cause so much hate, pressure and judgement that people start to commit suicides at times. IU has known least 3 close idol young friends that exp this. Also recently, in headlines. Famous Actor from oscar winning movie "parasite" had recently killed himself due to all the pressure of media police, even though he was found negative in his drug tests. IU was main lead actress to him in a different show called. "My Mister". What an amazing message and masterpiece, truly deserves a Award in every category.
