자작곡을 선공개 한 뒤에 바로 발매하는게 아니라 한참 뒤에 아껴뒀다 한꺼번에 내는 것도 너무 간지나고 자기 곡에 대한 찐사랑이 느껴짐

자작곡이라는게 믿기지 않는다... 아이유한테 김광석님 음악이 보이는것 같음... 새벽에 들으면 좋은 노래가 밤편지인줄 알았는데 밤편지보다 좋은 음악이 있을줄이야.. 아이유 진짜 작곡실력 대단한듯...

처음에 노래를 들었을 땐 그리워하는 누군가를 기다리는 곡인 줄만 알았는데 이 곡을 만들게 된 이야기를 듣고 역시 아이유구나 싶었어요 무작정 밖으로 나가고 싶어 버스를 탔는데 어디서 내려야 할지 고민만 하다 더 좋은 곳이 있겠지 생각하면서 이 노래를 떠올렸다고.. 인생의 어떤 때를 기다리는 마음이 이곡의 시작이였다고.. 정거장이 단순히 버스나 기차의 정류장이 아닌 내가 기다리는 인생의 그때를 표현한 말이란 게 너무나 아이유스러워서 더 와닿았어요

2013년 11월 중순 수능 다음날 친구의 장례식장에 다녀와 집으로 가는 길, 아이유님을 보았습니다. 동네에서 드라마 촬영을 하고 계시더라고요. 잠시 촬영 쉬는시간인지 의자에 앉아 쉬고 계셨는데 구경하던 저랑 눈이 마주쳤습니다. 그때의 그 눈빛을 잊고 지내다가 얼마 전 나의 아저씨를 보고 나서 갑자기 떠오르더라고요. 그때의 아이유님의 눈빛은 지안이에 더 가까웠던 것 같았어요. 나의 아저씨를 정주행하고 이 노래까지 들으니 더욱 그 시절이 그립고 슬프고 돌아가고 싶네요.

아이유 볼때마다 드는 생각인데 진짜 이런 가수 다시 안나올거같음 어린나이에 데뷔했음에 불구하고 소신있고 자신의 음악길을 꾸준히 갈 뿐만 아니라 작사 작곡 실력 모두 갖추고 대중들에게도 사랑받는 심지어 외모 인성 모두 갖춘 솔로가수.. 진짜 다신 이런 가수는 안나오지싶다

이 곡은 오래전부터 쓰다 완성하지 못했는데 나의아저씨를 찍으면서 지안이라는 역할에 몰입하다보니 자연스레 곡을 완성할수있었다고 하더라구요..그래서 그런지 들을때마다 괜히 지안이생각나고 ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

개인적으로 이번 앨범에서 제일 좋아하는 곡. 가사로 공간을 만들어내고, 목소리로 그 공간을 시적인 장소인 만드는 아이유의 예술적 역량이 잘 발휘된 곡이랄까?

최근에 할머니가 돌아가신 이후에 너무 보고 싶고 그리워했는데 이 노래 들으니까 왠지 모르게 위로 받는 기분이에요 저도 세월이 흘러서 삶 뒤에 다음 정거장으로 가야 되는 날이 오면 그때는 꼭 할머니 뵙고 싶어요 항상 좋은 음악 들려주셔서 감사합니다

Next Stop I started writing this song when I was 25, so by the time I was done, I was 26. There are some songs whereby the lyrics and melody come to my mind together, like a piece of music born with the two as one. It had been awhile since I had a song like that and this was one of them. It can’t be helped that (I am) biased towards such songs. There wasn’t any format or particular chord work that I worked hard on, but the moment I wrote the first verse as easily as breathing, I was so in love with this song. But even then, I forgot about it. Heh. It was a year later when I encountered my character ‘Jian’ in ‘My Mister’ that I naturally took on that character and was able to finish the second verse. While there was no plan cast in stone, it was a song that I definitely wanted to release one day. Beyond being a storyteller, but as a top liner [T/L note: person who composes the main melody of a song], I think this song contains my most central emotions as a creator. This is the only song that we mixed in the vocals from the guide version. It contains both my voice from 3 years ago, as well as my current voice. I sang it calmly back then, but now I sing it in a way that appeals (to emotions). Ironically, it might be because it’s all in the past now. Between Jieun and Jian is a ‘station’. 하루끝 발매 됐을 때 부터 아이유 좋아해서 지금까지 쭉 좋아하게 되면서 군대 입대를 하게 되었고 현재 군생활 3개월 정도 남았지만 학창시절과 군생활 중에 힘들때 마다 아이유의 노래를 들으면서 버티게 된 것 같고 항상 안 좋은 생각을 하게 될 때 멍하니 아이유 노래를 듣고 있으면 뭔가 위로가 되는 느낌이 들어서 너무 좋은것 같아 특히 무릎이라는 노래는 아직까지도 힘들 때마다 계속 듣고 있을 정도로 아이유라는 가수를 좋아하게 되면서 어두웠던 내가 점점 밝아지게 되었고 여튼 결론은 아이유의 노래로 위로를 받았었고 안 좋은선택을 하지 않게 해준것에 아직까지도 감사하고 있어요 진짜 마지막으로 음악으로 이렇게 누군가에게 힘이 되어줄 수 있다는 것은 정말 남은 인생동안 이런가수가 나올 수 있을까라는 생각이 드네요😢😢😢😢😢😢

It makes sense she changed the title from *Station* to *Next Stop* (especially in the context of this album as between 20s->30s.) There is a certain steady rhythm to the main music repetition, implying this is more like a procession (journey) rather than stagnation (station). I like how the whole song feels like streams of consciousness one develops at a pace as if it waltzing along with the steady sounds/rhythm of old steam trains trodding along slowly on old railway tracks in the last 5-10 mins journey in rural countrysides. Nostalgic and sentimental. Genius if intentional.

Some people are saying that IU is just like any other soloists out there but you just don't understand until you listen and discover more on her music..when I first heard IU I wasn't really much hyped but when I started exploring through her songs and discography that's when I knew..I never once regretted stanning one high quality soloist..her name never lies that "I and U become one through music" and it's true..with all the horrible things that are happening in this world and problems that we are suffering but when IU exist and her songs..all of us become one and just enjoy the emotions that she delivers and her soothing voice..no matter if you're Korean or not..you don't need translations and all because IU can make you feel that you understand all the things that she sings..IU is that powerful and she is such an amazing artist that we all look up to..I'm so proud to be part of your fandom IU🥺✨💞
