Iva Savai'i - 52nd Independence of Samoa 2014

The village of Iva from the Island of Savai'i. They were one of the four villages that were assigned to perform during the entertainment part of this year's Independence celebrations. Iva is known for being unique on the entertainment field. We can never get tired of watching them as they perform with style.

The fact that this is a completely new generation of Iva and they have composed and executed the old Iva sound and choreograph and continue to maintain it is amazing

I stay in Iva way back in 1995 with a friend Eseta, my bad I forgot her lastname. I think one of her sister is one of the main dancer in this group but not too sure. I love the place, the vaitaele, toga koko etc. I'm not Samoan, however watching this a few times take me back to the time I spend at your lovely village. Graceful dancer those Iva girls.

Love it! My family the Broederlows are from Iva, our family is across the street from the Catholic church. I know Iva is a very big village with a lot of people.

Marvellous performance by Iva ...I have to bragged about how their traditional way of dancing still exists ...I've noticed some villages tried to practice it but no other villages does it better than Iva aye ....I enjoyed watching this :) ...Thanks for posting this!! *malo lava le faafiafia*
