How have I not heard of this guy before. He started out in the world of Gilbert and Sullivan moved to Broadway in the era of George M Cohan, and wrote music for a work by Wodehouse and Bolton, adapting the styles as they change over time and was quite successful. This is from the switch from late Victorian London to early Broadway, 1902.
