Also I agree treat others as I would like to be treated and with hindsight of being a matured man myself I'd want people to be straight and honest with me not virtue signal like a wet lettuce. On one hand, as a Brentford fan I fully back Toney to come back and be stronger, but on the other I find it very difficult to understand the concept of taking responsibility officially but then coming on to a podcast to blag his way out of any responsibility.. he spoke about how at Northampton they had people come in and talk about how gambling had affected their lives, then within 20 minutes answered that he hadn’t heard of gambling addiction until the FA we’re pulling him up for betting on football… there’s no grey area if you’re not allowed to gamble as a footballer. I’m fully against gambling companies being on football shirts and advertised to prominently, but the sad reality is that football cannot survive without its influence. I wish he had sounded more enthusiastic about his teammates and time and Brentford… it just sounds like a stepping stone and no dues given to the club who put him in the spotlight in the Championship and then the EPL. Rambling now… but overall this was a disappointing interview from a Bees fan perspective. Was hoping for more.

thought the same myself - trying to deny he made bets he pled guilty to, whilst trying to use his parents as the excuse was bad enough; but when he was called out by stephen he admitted it was a smokescreen.
