Tom is right with his Toney take. Look at Lukaku. Shone at Everton, wasn’t great at united, flopped at chelsea. Some players just aren’t suited to the big english teams

@user-fd9db4ee9n toney is way more technically gifted than lukaku. Lukaku was never as composed a finisher as Ivan toney. His greatest strength was his physical prowess, which toney *nearly* matches but with far greater and tidier technical ability than lukaku.

@@tercel9710 he might be more technically gifted than Lukaku. But Lukaku had the explosiveness that Toney never had. Take arsenal for example, they’d have to slow their play down despite having attackers like martinelli and Saka because Toney isn’t the quick striker they’re used to

There much more space when your attacking for a lower team. When playing for a top club you have to play agaisnt low blocks most week which a lot of players struggle with. A bit like Lingard when he joined westham and did well after struggling at United. However I do think Toney would adapt well

I remember his Northampton days as an 18 year old literally saved us from relegation to the national league with an overhead kick. Didn’t work out at Newcastle but now has been on one hell of a rise.

The comparison to that free kick and a throw in are completely different. We have a goal scoring chance vs a throw in... It's on the line of gamesmanship and cheating but when you physically move the foam it crosses that line. If the aim of the game is to deceive the referees for an advantage and then blame them for not seeing it then we should start promoting diving as well.

In his first 2 seasons in the prem, Toney has averaged 10 non-penalty goals per season. He only has potential to score 20 a season if he takes pens

Salah can have his moments of beauty with a trivela or a dribble but so can Danny Inge and Lauren James. A lot of watching Salah isn't those moments. Saying he's not fun to watch isn't an insult, for a lot of people it's the truth. Don't get upset about it..

How are they calling it class? It’s the opposite of class. He repositions the foam which is just blatant cheating and deception. And of course it made a difference to the goal he’s made the angle much bigger and keeper hasn’t noticed so hasn’t readjusted his wall.

Tom's take on Salah being "shit to watch" doesn't make sense to me at all. He's been one of the most electric forwards in the league for many years now and he's consistently shining even when Liverpool weren't in good form. Sure he may not do stepovers or have mesmerizing footwork but his finishing is elite and his goals are beautiful to watch.

What's the foam for then? And what's VAR doing? The opinion of these guys is exactly the problem. If given the opportunity you'll cheat and blame the ref / authorities for not penalising. That is exactly why players dive, fake injuries etc.
