"Heya" means "Sun". The song takes its motif from a Korean legend. A Korean old legend says that In daylight, a Big Tiger tried to swallow the Sun but was too hot and couldn't swallow it, and then at night, it tried to swallow the Moon but was too cold and could not bite it.

In an interview with Nylon, the article said "[Heya is] a rap track inspired by a folk tale of IVE’s own invention called The Tiger Who Loved the Sun, will be accompanied by a music video meant 'to express Korea’s beauty.'" Also, someone said it "interpolates the Blackstreet, Dr. Dre, and Queen Pen 1996 song 'No Diggity'".

I sometimes wish I didn't listen to the teasers or the IVE SWITCH melody but this song goes SO hard! Absolutely SLAPS honestly. I wasn't sure when I heard it would be "rap heavy" but it's just So damn good man

록희님~ "해야"의 한국 전통 민요 포크 같은 느낌을 아시는게 대단하심~ It's amazing that you know the feeling of a traditional Korean folk song~ 80년대 한국의 Magma 라는 밴드가 "해야" 라는 곡을 히트 시켰었는데 아이돌 그룹이 이런 전통적인 소재와 비쥬얼로 신곡을 발표해 주니 너무 좋네요~ In the 80s, a Korean band called Magma made a hit with "HEYA" It's so nice that idol groups release new songs with these traditional materials and visuals

I like it, beautiful mv, For me, it has 60's hippy vibe and sound like invoque god, goddess, divine creature. In Eleven, they are the genie who will grant a wish, in Love Dive and Wave, it has the Siren vibe, sounds like a siren who cast a spell and here it looks like Hippy who cast spell lol
