hey folks, well the time is finally come to put the rounds through the new Iver Johnson HP 18 12 gauge home defense shotgun. I'm about to put three different types of ammunition through it. we'll start with some Winchester 3-in turkey loads and follow up with some Winchester super target loads at 1200 ft per second and thirdly some Remington gun club Target loads also going 1200 feet per second. I'm curious to see how this gun will function. I'd like to thank everybody who takes the time to give me a thumbs up, or leave the comment. and if you're not a subscriber please feel free to subscribe.

@HamiltonOutdoors
@HamiltonOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Yes if you take out your trigger group, there is a sleeve that the pen runs through you can take a pair of pliers and slightly crimp the ends of the sleeve and that will keep it from walking out. I contacted the factory and that was the fix they told me to do. And it has worked

I noticed you said at least one load you put in went in "tight". I just got one of these and some Federal slug loads to try it out (easier to see where they go). The shells stick in the mouth of the nagazine, just behind the shell stop. Wiggling and pushing them in & out eventuaslly gets them out, but they won't feed. Some Aguila rounds I tried in the mag' only went right in and popped right out. I got out my caliper and found the Federal rims measured .755, bigger than the Aguilas at .750. But the IJ spec' says the magazine mouth is .766. Apparently not. Any thoughts?

Hey how ya doing, how's your new air conditioner working? I shot ten slug rounds threw the shotgun today, only the last 4 cycled! Man that thing kicks like a mule!! I was wondering, if I fully load the tube and leave it that way a few days would that help with the cycling? I kept a eye on screws and pins, I had to tighten up the buttstock screw but that was it...any tips?
@HamiltonOutdoors
@HamiltonOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
What will help with cycling more than loading the magazine tube is leaving the bolt pulled back and the spring compressed on the bolt. I left all of mine compressed before I shot them at least overnight.
@HamiltonOutdoors

@HamiltonOutdoors
@HamiltonOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
The Iver Johnson was $329 so you could buy four Iver Johnson's for what you would pay for one Benelli. And I know Benelli is a quality gun. But is it worth four times the cost? I guess I will never know because I would never in my lifetime pay $1,500 for a shotgun. But that's just me. And for the average person even this inexpensive turkish built shotgun, no more than I will ever shoot it will last me my lifetime. Thanks for watching
