Amazing doctor! Thank you SO much for this information! I’m dealing with possible malpractice and the doctor saying “your age doesn’t help” right now and this video was extremely helpful to understand what he didn’t say.

Thank you so much doctor, this was very helpful. I had egg retrieval today and 4 out of 7 folicoles were empty, so I will ask my fs in my next appointment about blood test and using another medication if I have to do another cycle.

Thanks for the video! I experienced EFS twice this year. Never had an egg retrieval before. I have a high level of AMH and polycystic ovaries. I'm a high responder but only cumulus cells were found in both egg retrievals. First time, I had 40 follicles, 15 of them were good and aspirated, we used arvekap 0.2 as a trigger shot. Second time, Ovidrel 250mg was used but 36h later, follicles were empty. I had 25 follicles but hcG level was 120 at the time of retrieval. Shall we use 2 x ovidrel plus arvekap next time? TIA

I just had egg retrieval and had 12 nice follicles but they only got 4 eggs, the rest was empty. Sadly 1 is fertilized on day 1, waiting till Monday to see if it made it. I don't understand my amh was above 16 and didn't even think this result could be possible, No egg! So sad

Hi doctor .I hope you can answer my question. I'm 28 did ivf for firt time after 9 days of injection had to cancel because i just had 4 follicles and doctor told it's better to stop and try again later. I did all the taste that are required for ivf and my AMH was good as they told me . Can i have your advice .can i try again and concive . To let you know that we have male fertility.

I have question, I got my egg retrieval last 2 days and i have only 1 egg is there any posiblity? And my doctor said today idealky 4 cells...so 2-4 cells is grade 2 B plus in american grading system... Im still hoping and praying that im getting pregnant and have a child..im 41 already and i dont have child.thats why im hoping for this cyles of IVF..

I had an egg extraction with 10 follicles resulting in 6 eggs collected. They implied that four were empty so this video is saying that four just weren't collected. I took ovidrell correctly wasn't asked for a blood test. So if it's correct I've been lied to as before they said some may be empty to find not true that's being lied to.

This is a little different. During an average egg retrieval, it is rare to get an egg out of every follicle. EFS is when you are unable to get any eggs. However, it is still about failure to get the egg out.

I am also in the same stage, done with IVF but after egg retrieval they said no follicles are empty on both side so end up with no egg... Did you continue the next IVF ?? I am planning to give one more try.. kindly reply if u r comfortable

Dr. I did Ivf but wat the doctor said was my quality of eggs are poor so there was no change in the eggs after the semen was added can this happen. Not even one got fertilized.

I had about 24 follicles during the scans, but when my eggs were retrieved, they only got 11. The doctor said they could only get 11. I now wonder was it due to the trigger. My primary doc originally told me to take 2 Ovidrel as trigger but then the doctor who did my retrieval told me to only trigger with 1 Ovidrel. Do you think this caused me to only have 11 eggs opposed to 24? I was expecting a lot more eggs retrieve as I was responding to the medication well.

If you do IUI and don't use the trigger shot, can that cause it to fail even if your OPK detected ovulation?

Unlikely. The hCG shot is just an alternative in the absence of an LH surge

When taking Clomid, there are instances in which the LH surge may not occur or occur late so even women who ovulate normally may, on occasion, need to take a trigger shot. With IVF, the trigger shot is mandatory

They will increase the dose or change the protocol so that follicles can grow in next cycle
