Right on man! I went to the same school as them. Didn't even know it till about 10 years ago that the Stooges actually played at the school in 1969 in the lunch room/auditorium. Thought that was pretty cool.

Rock on brother! For me the Stooges have ruled since I first saw the in 1968 at the Grande Ballroom. So far just in the past ten years, I've blown out two sets of car speakers because of these guys! Turn it up and blow 'em up if you have to is what I say. Ohh ya, and old neighbor of mine said his toilet used to shake at its foundations. Asked why he never said anything and he said he didn't want to ruin our fun. I was in my twenties back then and he was in his sixties. Cool guy! This was a great concert. I damn near broke down and cried I was so happy to see the Stooges reformed and playing in front of such a huge crowd. I guess for me the only show that might have beat it was Cincinnati Pop in 1970, but them I do have to emphasize "might".

But the Grande was the Taj Mahal of Detroit man. it's cool to talk to people that went to the places you did so many years ago, there are not many of us left.... Rock On Brother, Figel

Undeniable fact: No one after Iggy is as cool as Iggy. A Detroit original. The late 60 & 70s were such a great time for Detroit rock. If an act wasn’t completely original it didn’t get noticed. I remember going to high school dances in the suburbs in the 70s and some bands would play 20 minute instrumentals trying to be artistic. Every bar had live music at least on weekends. When disco came, a lot of clubs had a band on one floor and disco on another. What a time to be alive and grow up in Detroit. We could go to Canada without any I’d let alone passport.

i know how that goes but in my gig going days you tube didn't exist so if you were too drunk too bad,you snooze you lose. So that is one great thing about now ,the downside is nothing is private or special anymore. Everyone has a camera and feels compelled to film it and not live in the moment(i have been guilty of it).So you know, swings and roundabouts.

A girl sitting next to me on the floor 10 feet from the stage, kept yelling Iggy I want to Fuck You,He finally did a stage dive to the floor in front of us, he was crawling on all 4's,he got 2 feet in front of me , In My Face, He Totally Freaked me Out!! So glad to say that I was there! A major life event to say the least! The best part is my friend told me about it the day before. Three of us rode there in his late 50’s pickup truck and got tickets from scalpers. For some reason I never thought to look up the footage until recently. So great! I can still feel the atmosphere listening. It’s been twenty years!! [also notice how he calls out Radio Birdman in the first verse of 1970; whence their name originated]

Iggy and the Asheton brothers! I bought THE STOOGES in 1969 when I was 12. That album got alot of play. I WANNA BE YOUR DOG and 1969 got played over and over. Iggy and the Stooges changed Rock and their influence was ALL OVER '70s 'Rock! That FLOWER POWER AND PEACE CRAP needed IGGY to stomp on it!! The BASS pro has his trunk of clothes in order, with his CREEM tee shirt. Lester Bang(I don't know what he said about Iggy and the Stooges, but he slammed the Alice Cooper band either about Love It To Death or KILLER) BUT he would have had to retract a bad review of the Stooges because of this shirt! RIP-THE ASHETON BROS(and Lester Bang(and CREEM))!🎸🥁😵🤘

Born in 1962 in small town Atlantic Canada. Dad was an arsehole. Always connected to this stuff. Three waves of punk rock. I always go back to the first two albums. Asheton is great to play loud when your neighbours aren't expecting it. Detroit!

And it's worth noting Iggy acknowledging the audience so saliently and specifically concert after concert. Just one part of his frenetic, dynamic and wildly charismatic on-stage modus operandi. Can you dig it?

Saw this show, couldn't believe how much better they were than in 1970, and my old pal Peter C Cavanaugh stood on his seat and yelled all night! Iggy didn't want the spotlight on him, he said, 'I'm just another Stooge',,,

DAMN!! Had not seen this before. Saw the Ig 7 times, early 70's to early 80's. Iggy had more talent in his little whanger than the entire music industry of today has combined. He knew he was only part of the message and surrounded himself with great musicians. I remember turning a stripper on to I wanna be your dog in the early 80's. Yes, Monique, you can dance to this. Just check out Arabella's next set. It bbn became a staple on the clubs playlist. Boy, can a stripper dance to that song. I know something must be wrong with my mind. I'm 70 years old and still dig this shit. Thanks for posting. ALL HAIL THE TRUE GODFATHER OF PUNK!!!!!

I wish people would take the trouble to differentiate properly between The Stooges and Iggy and the Stooges. If Ron is on guitar its The Stooges, if James Williamson is on guitar its Iggy and the Stooges. This is The Stooges.
