Fantastic video. Thank you so much! This is about 2x the price of a standard AS18 compressor (which usually goes for $70-80). You've clearly outlined the advantages. I'm considering the Sprint Jet, which I think is very similar, but quite a bit cheaper ($200). Is it equally good, I wonder?

I bought this one and it's great. But I'm using most of the time 20 psi, so the compressor is always on. I want to add a regulator (thinking about the Euro-Tec 10A). But i'm not really sure how to put it on. Do I just replace the Moisture Trap/Regulator with the new regulator?

You do not have to replace the existing moisture trap if you don't want to. I picked up a cheap standard adjustable regulator with the same size fittings off ebay for under $6 US...free shipping btw..LOL I added it before the coiled hose. You will need both a male and female adapter for the regulator. At 14:41 in the video, I hooked up a regulator to show this. It worked like a charm for me.

Hi Todd, thanks for reviewing this video. I just wanted to know does this compressor blow air at 50psi continuously? I actually want to buy a compressor but am not sure. I want to use it to paint RC bodies. The paint requires 40 to 70 psi and that is the reason I am asking. The name of the paint is Faskolor. I would appreciate if you can provide me some info. Thanks in advance :-)

Hello Ryuji, While the constant flow is maxed at 50 to 55 psi, The working pressure is about 30 psi, +/-, depending on the airbrush. With those high working pressures of the Faskolor, you may want to consider a compressor with a larger output or an external tank and standard regulator. I know most companies including Iwata offer models with external tanks. Another option might be a smal commercial air compressor, similar to the ones sold at Home Centers and are used for construction. They can provide 90 to 100 psi working pressures, have a tank and can be regulated to your desired working pressure for the paint. I hope some of this helps you a little...best of luck my friend! Cheers, T

Hi Todd, thanks for your reply. Can you please give me a cheap & a good solution to this please as I see that you have a lot of knowledge about that and also you review products a lot. I would appreciate that if you can recommend me an Air brush and a compressor. Just like you said a commercial one. I think I have one which has the working pressure of 30/35 psi.

Hi Todd, thanx for your reply. Is there any small commercial air compressors that you have in mind and that are cheap that you can recommend me as I can see that you have a lot of knowledge. I would really appreciate that if you can help me in this too, thank you!

You're welcome! Again, my apologies for getting back to you so late. That "work thing" takes a big chuck of the day sometimes...LOL If you have a compressor that has a working pressure of 30 to 35 psi, that is typically more than enough for airbrush applications. If you need the recommended pressures for Faskolor and are considering buying a compressor that can handle higher continuous flow, I would recommend looking at any local Home Centers...like Home Depot or Lowe's or something comparable in your location. They carry small pancake compressors and other smaller versions for light duty construction work. They are more cost efficient sometimes than the larger airbrush compressors. As long as there is a supplied regulator, you can adjust the outgoing flow to any psi level you desire. Most of these compressors have a 3/8 inch threaded output. Some, might have a 1/4 inch output. Most Airbrush compressors are 1/4 and 1/8 inch outputs. You will need an inline coupling or adapter to hook up the air hose. Most home centers and hardware stores carry these adapter. You can find them online too...like ebay and probably free shipping. I will send another reply about airbrushes.....

As for recommendations for airbrushes. I have several models that I use. I do prefer a couple over others for a number of reasons. Harder and Steenbeck is an excellent brush. There are several grades you can choose from. Depending on how big of a needle you think you will need, might depend on which airbrush you buy as well. A standard needle size would be .2. I typically use this for everything and .15 for delicate up close work. For larger projects, I sometimes use a .3 or even a .4 form time to time. Have a look at Grex. They have excellent brushes and options for larger cups, needles and options. Badger is another excellent brush. Again, they have several models with different size needles and cups. I have not used Faskolor paints before. I would think it would be best to have a look at what other uses might be looking for needle sizes...this will help lead you in the right direction.
