Great explanations. It make you realise that all the little subtle techniques here and there make one huge difference in the end result. I always try and cut corners and just don't get the quality results. This is going to change my workflow hugely. Thanks iZotope.

One thing that would improve your already great workflow is using strip silence Control X to silence all the dead space/room noise in your vocal takes especially on the background vocals. Great video!

This is the clearest explanation I’ve yet run across. Thanks so much! Wondering about which DAW you are using. Also I’m interested in recording/mixing a cappella vocals, how to use click etc. Training you recommend, etc. Finally I really like your song/voice.

1:15 Sorry but I could listen to this and the changes later on for 20 times and to my ears it all sounds almost exactly the same. Plus, as a music producer who is in eternal "loop-hell", I've been told that "good is good enough", then why not have something that you said is pretty good and just move on instead of going for (near) perfection? In general I really don't understand this obsession with getting music to sound 100% perfect. There's no charm in it any more, it all seems to be a case of "You can produce an average clichéd song, just make sure you have a perfect mix and master and it'll be very popular." If you hear music from the 90s (or even the 70s and 80s) it may sound gritty, sometimes a bit dirty but it has SOUL. Today's super-clean (commercial) music doesn't have this at all any more. And the sad thing is, I don't know who or what is to blame for originality, inventiveness and daring to do something different being relegated to the realm of "minor importance" ... :(
