J.I.D. reminds me a lot of Isaiah Rashad. Young rappers on the rise, uber-talented but haven't broken through to the mainstream yet. Both guys can flow seamlessly over any beat and switch flows multiple times in a track to keep things fresh. Isaiah's "The Sun's Tirade" is an excellent album to check out if you haven't heard it.

If you like lyricism then you'll really enjoy Joey Bada$$'s albums and mixtapes. 1999 is a masterpiece and an underground classic that he made when he was only 17 years old, B4.DA.$$ is another fantastic album and I believe it's his first major studio release, and All Amerikkkan Bada$$ is one of my favorite conscious rap albums of the decade.

I seldom ever comment, but I really enjoy the channel and you do great work here and with Simon. Your bit at the end about how you appreciate writing made me think that you or you and Simon should listen to the track Aquemini by Outkast. The very last verse by Andre is, for my money, the best written hip hop verse of all time. Keep up the great work.

They need to get in to Outkast. Aquemini has so many amazing tracks. The first verse on Return of the G is also one of the most unique verses structurally and at least 10 years ahead of it's time.

@JonDenton in the song D/vision the last verse is sung by Johnny Venus. All three are lyrically on par, they write together alot of the time and bounce ideas. Flatbush Zombies - 3001 A Laced Oddyssy I would love to see you react to this album, I really think you'd like it! This has to be my favorite rap groups out right now. What they lack in content they more than make up for in production and their chemistry is amazing. They consist of three members: Meechy Darko - The "Darkest" of the 3. Has a super nasty and grimy voice that sounds awesome. You'll know him when you hear him. Zombie Juice - A little higher pitched tone that also makes him unique. His energy and flows are great and he adds some cocky swagger to the group as well. Erick Arc Elliot - This man is amazing. Not only does he spit on the tracks but he's also their sole producer and makes all the beats. They're an underground style New York group that has recently started to blow up and gain traction over the years. You should really give them a listen so you can see just how versatile hip-hop is nowadays. I absolutely love Travis Scott and J.I.D but these guys are much different and you should expand your horizons a little and check these em out. I don't think you'll regret it!
