I am from Midland and couldn't agree with you more. I really think the Vikings got something a little different here but special for sure.

I definitely agree with both of you. JJ is a game manager. He may not have the stats of the quarterbacks that were chose in front of him but the stat that he does have is 27-1 as the starting quarterback. He has never cared about individual accolades all he cares about is winning football games and stacking rings. To be honest going to the vikings is the best thing that happened for him. I don't think that there was a better fit for him in this draft.

Go Blue and would not mind him on our team, just might have to sit for a little bit and develop though but who knows.

He’s more mobile and has a stronger arm than Cousins 🤷‍♂️. Who knows

I'd assume he's talking about the people in the comments? Who are just dudes sitting at home and for sure do not work for an NFL team and therefore can't have the insight that actual NFL scouts have... just a guess.

I agree. I don’t know how anybody can say that he’s going to be terrible. We just don’t know until they hit the field. Their very few special players that are levels above everybody else like a Randy Moss. I hope the Vikings finally get the right quarterback this time.

So, let me get this straight: You think that a college QB, not even an NFL rookie yet, hasn't even played a single snap in an NFL practice/scrimmage situation, let alone a regular season game, is better than an NFL vet who has, at least, proven that he can keep games competitive, and that he's even capable of beating all odds & leading his team to an almost impossible win, down 33-0 with less than a half left, at least once? In no way do I think that Kirk is some kinda top 5, elite status QB, and I'm actually relieved that the Vikes refused to pay him what Atlanta did, but explain to me how you can confidently say that a *draft prospect* , who hasn't played a single snap in the NFL, is already better than an NFL vet QB? Where's the proof?

Maye is going to have a rough road - he needs a couple years. People fall in love with size, arm strength and good athleticism, but where he is now needs more work than all the others by far. He has a very high ceiling but if he starts to soon, he'll be done.

Man I really love JJ, I like his pocket presence, good arm strength, great accuracy, can be agile when he needs to be, and is a great leader. I think his progressions are great, its one of his strengths in my opinion. Truly I do believe he will be a great QB in the league.

I also remember reading an article long ago that said even tho QB's are hard to rate, an important factor is always "pocket presence"

He certainly has a lot going for him, he’s just so raw. He may have the best upside but needs the most work. I hope NE is smart with him. The other 5 are ahead of him regarding quarterbacking. He’s also young compared to the rest except McCarthy.

We gotta remember that Mac Jones made the playoffs, and the pro bowl, his rookie year. 2022 he lost his OC that was replaced with a defensive minded OC in Matt Patricia, QB coach was lost for Joe Judge, a ST coordinator, and on top of that suffered a major injury that put him out three weeks. The organisation basically fell apart around him.

Penix's injuries are behind him, along with his former style as a dual-threat QB. Today Penix is a very agile _Pocket_ QB, who will only rarely run downfield. All his injuries happened before he changed his style.

@@jimbo92107 Penix was lost as a quarterback in the championship game. Once he played against a NFL style defense as Michigan plays he couldn't do anything right. Plus the fact he got beat to death phsically shows his true age and conditioning. By the time he plays for Atlanta he will be 26 or 27. Past his prime by 5 years. He was running for his life against Michigan. He was so rushed he couldn't complete good passes. he Barely could walk off the field. Look like he was 65 years old after that game when walking thru the tunnel.

He's had multiple interviews discussing that pass. He learned after watching tons of film on that DB that when he turns his head away from the QB, he never turns back. He waited for the DB to make his head turn and was confident he wouldn't turn back and look for the ball. That's not getting lucky. That's playing the man after extensive film study.

I think it's because QB 5-7 don't have the mental skills for the NFL. They may ONLY have physicals. Top QBs have both.
