This is the reason why I love British culture!..... Heyman and Rowling and everybody else deserves this award so much, they have done so much for both literature and movies, children and adult! I thank them both for making my childhood and "young adulthood" wonderful THANK YOU! Now, I'm sure that Meyer and the producers of "Twilight" can only dream of making such an impact on children, let alone American cinema!

I cried when I watched this too. The Harry Potter books and films are really such an achievement in the world of literature and cinema. Congratulations to everyone who was involved with this creative process. And thank you especially to J.K. Rowling. She is the one who single-handedly got my to read when I was a child and is the reason I continue to read today.

This made me cry. No amount of words can ever express the gratitude we HP fans feel toward JK Rowling for not only writing this amazing piece of literature, but for trusting it in the hands of someone else. It's not easy for authors to give up the rights to their books, and it's even harder to trust that the directors and producers will do your story justice. It's not just the work of the brilliant cast, but also the amazing and talented crew.

i'm very happy for them =3 reading the comments, and realizing the biggest thing of my childhood is almost over....i'm not even ashamed at how much i'm crying. i'm sad because i never want it to end, but happy that something so great was given so much attention. i will definitely leave that midnight viewing of the last movie crying, but the question is, will it be from the movie, or from the heartbreak that something so wonderful is finally finished? maybe both.

It brought me chills and tears! I love Harry Potter since I was 8 and I'm now near 18! JK is such a genius and so unique! And yes, the movies are so great, especially the first ones. But I'd say that Deathly Hallows part I captured all the feelings that the seventh book brought me when I knew that I was reading the very last of Harry Potter. It's a deserved award! They all made a great contribution to the world of cinema. Take that Twilight! Ha!

Folks, this is a big deal. For everyone who wanted to see "the Harry Films" get a nod for all the work they have done, the performances, the actors, the years of commitment. This is what all this work has been about. You know that several of the actors were actually sick during filming (Richard Harris/Maggie Smith both with cancer), committed their time to do these films. It is about Freakin' time that these films at least got ONE award...They deserve more.

Everytime I say how sad I am that the series is ending people scoff and say "Nothing good can last forever." My response is always "It's not just good, and it will last forever because people will be reading and loving these books for hundreds of years to come." J.K is like a modern day Shakespeare. Her words will reach children and adults alike for hundreds of years yet to come!
