J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) play a once in a lifetime improvised song together at Camp Fuzz. Kevin begins by making up a tuning and finding chords on the spot, and then adding layers of sound, while J finds melodies and ways to solo over the rhythm. As a guitar player, I will never forget seeing this close up. At the end, Kevin talks about building ideas into songs, and you get a really good idea of his approach to creation.
