今日茶席，第231席【玄鳥北迴】
秦漢時期，一年被分為二十四節氣，而從北魏《正光歷》開始，由《呂氏春秋》刪減出的七十二候被正式納入皇曆，後由唐代的一行和尚重新編排，二十四節氣、七十二候最終定型，成為西曆普及前指導農業生產的傳統曆法。按此規定，五日為一候，三候為一節。在日本，二十四節氣“清明”的初候是“玄鳥至”。如按中國傳來的古代曆法計算，春分的初候才是“玄鳥至”，這是因為在江戶時代日本按照本國的季節氣候做了調整，成了表示清明初候時期的詞彙。
“玄鳥至”裡的玄鳥代指燕子， 正如清明之名，溫暖而清亮的陽光傾瀉而下，燕子北迴，開始在屋簷下築巢、哺育後代，處處洋溢著春的生機。

🍵今日の茶席　第231回【玄鳥が帰ってきました】🍵
二十四節気という概念は秦や漢の時代には既にありました。「呂氏春秋」にはこれをさらに細分化した七十二候が記録されていて、北魏の「正光歴」からは正式な暦に導入されました。その後、唐代になると一行という僧侶がこれを再編して、二十四節気と七十二候は最終的な形になりました。
西洋の暦が普及する以前はこれが農業の基準となる伝統的な暦でした。この暦では、五日が一候に、三候が一節に相当します。
日本では二十四節気の「清明」の初めに相当する七十二候は「玄鳥至」です。しかし中国から伝わった古代の計算法では、本来は春分の初候が「玄鳥至」です。これは江戸時代に日本現地の季節・気候に合わせて調整が行われたためです。例えば日本の清明の初候にふさわしいのは「玄鳥至」でした。
「玄鳥至」の玄鳥とは燕を意味していて、清明の名の通り、暖かくて澄んだ陽光が降り注ぐと、燕は南方からやってきて、軒下に巣を作り、子育てを始めます；どこもかしこも春の生気に満ち溢れていますね。

The concept of the 24 solar terms already existed in the Qin and Han dynasties. The 呂氏春秋 records 72 periods that further subdivide this, and it was introduced into the official calendar from the Northern Wei 正光歴/Zhengguang Calendar. Later, in the Tang dynasty, a monk named 一行 reorganized this, and the 24 solar terms and 72 periods became the final form.
Before the Western calendar became widespread, this was the traditional calendar that served as the standard for agriculture. In this calendar, five days correspond to one period, and three periods correspond to one season.
In Japan, the period that corresponds to the beginning of the 24 solar terms called 清明/Qingming is “玄鳥至(Black-Bird-Come)”. However, in the ancient calculation method introduced from China, the first period of the 春分 term is originally “玄鳥至”. This is because it was adjusted to suit the local seasons and climate in Japan during the Edo period. For example, “玄鳥至” was appropriate for the first period of 清明 in Japan.
The 玄鳥/black bird in 玄鳥至 refers to swallows, and just as the name 清明(literally meaning Pure-Bright) suggests, when the warm, clear sunlight pours down, swallows arrive from the south, build nests under the eaves, and begin raising their young; everywhere you look, the vitality of spring is overflowing.
