According to what I have read from people who have read First Frost (the story of Sang Yan), Yan came to see her because he had, had a fight with his girlfriend. So when you look at it from that point of view it really adds even more complexity to the emotions going on in this scene. He is already upset about the fight with his girlfriend and then he finds out his best friend is dating his younger sister. I think Victor Ma did a fantastic job as the older brother. I sincerely hope they seriously consider him for the lead of First Frost.

I will write in Russian, my native language: Кого должно волновать, что Сан Ён поругался/подрался/поссорился с подружкой? Почему его бывший сокурсник и лучший друг должен отвечать синяками за чужую ссору? Почему нельзя выяснять отношения ЧЕРЕЗ РОТ? С помощью разговора? У китайцев принято, как я смотрю, сначала набить морду противнику, а потом уже причину поступка выяснять. Если вспомнят. И эта фраза практически рефреном, которую родители произносят дочери: "Ты посмотри, чей он сын", имея в виду, что его папаша, сбив человека, трусливо сбежал, а потом в окно выпрыгнул, лишь бы не загреметь по статье. Чисто технический вопрос: кто внушил родителям Сан Джи, что парень, которому они давали в долг и который вернул им долг полностью, несмотря на весьма бедственное положение, будет таким же трусом, как отец? По его поступкам понятно, что он не будет бежать от проблемы. Так что Сан Ён абсолютно неправ. И его "только что пругался с подружкой" вообще НЕ оправдание.

I've never been in a situation like this one, but you have to be more understanding of her brother. Beating up his little sister's boyfriend seems childish, but in real life that must be something difficult to deal with. Family are people who you (usually) love unconditionally; friends are the same. If something goes wrong he could lose either his sister or his friend. Besides their relationship is bound to change cause he's not a friend anymore, he's a brother in law.

Сан Ён ведёт себя здесь как полный придурок. И как вовремя он вспомнил, что сестра задаст неудобные вопросы. Я бы на месте Дуаня не отвечала тем же. Ёну надо научиться в его 25 думать головой.
