At Kibune Shrine in Kyoto, bamboo branches are decorated during the Tanabata Festival. This event, also called "Kibune no mizu-matsuri," takes place from July 1 to August 15 each year. Worshippers write their wishes on strips of paper and tie them to the bamboos, praying that their wishes will come true. Visitors can also enjoy a fantastic atmosphere as the shrine grounds and surrounding area are decorated with colorful Tanabata decorations.
Kibune Shrine is dedicated to the god of water and is a beautiful place surrounded by clear water and deep greenery. The shrine attracts many tourists and worshippers especially during the Tanabata Festival, allowing visitors to experience a tasteful Japanese summer.
