I do think the game has evolved to the point where everyone can showcase their unique style now a day, which is good because we can appreciate and give them their flowers during their Primes.

rider was really a unique payer in the 90s! big guard and his 3 was aways there and it stayed consistent year in year out! to play all of them years in the 90s and to shoot like he was at his size is crazy!

By the time Rider went to the Lakers though, he was already basically done. Petty sure he'd had 3 straight years shooting under 42% from the field, and two out of 3 seasons at only 32% or lower from 3. He was over. Kobe wasn't measuring himself. He already knew Rider was no longer a premier 2. He was sending a message to make sure Rider knew it, too. Delusions of grandeur are a b*tch.

Man Kobe, KG, and Jermaine O’Neal in particular were all older than me but were still kids getting the spotlight! Wasn’t like anything I’d seen at that point! Was still the days of 2-4 years of college before jumping to the league… that one and done and the straight from HS train was fully rolling after 97’

People do not give JR his respect. Saw him play in some crazy environments in college where he shut the crowd down to the point that everyone just left asking questions about their whole life choices. He was something else.
