J. S. Bach: Bourrée in E minor, from suite BWV 996 (played by Olli Hirvanen)

This is maybe the most famous Bourrée of Johann Sebastian Bach. It´s one movement from the Suite BWW 996, written for the instrument called Lautenwerkc which was a hybrid instrument of lute and and clavier.

Very nice, its funny because I have played this for about 40 years and I many times find myself playing it just a little bit too fast.

Thanks for your thoughts! I think Bach's great music gives us choice to try and play it in different tempos, but of course too fast is sometimes too fast😊

Same. One of the first classical pieces I learned and I’m always guilty of speeding through it. Helps me to stay out of my head and not get lost when playing from memory. Also helps to hide the mistakes…lol

I was first turned on to this tune by Jethro Tull with Ian Anderson playing the melody on his flute and Glen Cornick playing the walking bassline on his bass. The others joined in but it was primarily those two.

Hi! I didn’t use metronome to find a spesific tempo, but I checked now and this version is about 74pm for half note.

You can only pluck single strings with a "bouncing right hand, it's not playing chords, but individual notes on a scale

Много грязи, гитара не дает менять тембры, темп лишком быстрый для этой пьесы , поэтому пьеса звучит как на барабане. Постарайтесь играть сердцем. Руки хорошо поставлены.

dance music has not always been historically played perfectly in time or for the purposes of making others dance. Considering they are alone in their room, and not playing at a party, wedding, or club, I would say some (intentional and appropriate) interpretation is more historically accurate than playing it straight.
