The purpose of Classical Music is to be posh like British mannerisms the whole tea and crumpets thing with phrases like "I am not amused" with posh accents like HRH King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II as they are formal and don't use slang and aren't casual. @@tylergarten4668 How was I wrong? I never stated what metal was. I know that Black Sabbath is considered the first metal band but, just because they took a piece of classical music and translated it to their 3 piece band does not make Heavy Metal a descendant of classical music. I'm also a musician and know all about progressions and modes. Just because I decide to use some classical pieces to form a new piece of music doesn't make my style a modern classical progression. If anything, to me it looks like metal musicians have an inferiority complex and have to tout classical music to try to justify themselves as musicians. That's why I asked why cannot metal just stand on it's own as a form of music.
