Lubotsky is still the best performance in Bachs sonatas & partitas in my opinion.

This is simply wonderful. Everything is perfect - tonality, phrasing, double/triple/quadruple stops - simply everything. Were I to play the violin, I would hope I can achieve this perfection.

I agree that Hilary Hahn is an amazing violinist and I do like her playing better, but there is more than one way to express music.

rach2rakel Right! Lubotsky is really excellent. Haifetz is unreacheable so far. Yet, Hilary is very close along with Sarah Chang, Mütter, Vengerov, Jansen, Midori and Julia Fischer. But particularly in Bach partitas at present Hahn is going very high.

I have an unopened copy (still in sealed cellophane) of this on vinyl. Going to keep in unopened to as I see a used copy sold on auction for over a $1000!!!
