২০০৬ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠা পায় জাতীয় কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সবপ্রান্তেই ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে আছে নজরুলের সৃষ্টি। শিক্ষা, গবেষণা ও উন্নয়নকে মোটো হিসেবে গ্রহণ করা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি, এগিয়ে সব থেকেই। যার ফলও পেয়েছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। বর্তমানে ইউজেসি র‍্যাংকিংয়ে ১৪ তে অবস্থান করছে নজরুল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
