Jabba brought us his stunning 37k Pheonix Yellow BMW E46 M3 for our famous Redish Motorsport Underside Restoration.
He saw surface corrosion underneath his BMW M3 on the chassis floors itself and the axle hardware like Subframe, Diff Carrier Brackets, Diff, Trailing Arms etc.
This is the story of how we went about tacking the surface corrosion and stopping it, along with making the underside of his E46 M3 one of the best in the world.

The attention to detail is absolutely astonishing. This is the sort of thing I love, peace of mind that every bolt is perfect, the bottom side of the car is as beautiful as the top, and that everything is brand new. Superb

Amazing work and attention to detail. Nice AP brakes. I just cleaned my front control arms with a toothbrush and now I feel totally inadequate. As a Phoenix Yellow owner too, I gotta scratch my head on the Kawasaki green though. Its certainly outside the box -- I gotta give the owner credit for that -- but just not sure it goes with PY. Color aside, well done. I appreciate the owner that loves his car so much they are not concerned whether they get all the money out of it they put into it. If it makes you happy, spend whatever on the car you like.

I did a similar but no so extensive clean/powdercoat on my e46 m3 a few years back and it was a big mistake due to tight tolerances and the added thicknes of the powdercoat I had issues with the rear subframe, diff and axels. The bushings were prone to failing and cracking so I had to remove the powder coat on quite a few areas and had no problems since.
@wdboxtv

I had the same thought when I saw how thick the powder coating layers were. I would have expected some tolerance issues.

A question to the Powerflex front arm bushes, do you have steering trambling? At speed of 50 miles it starts, at 65 the steering wheel is tremble aprox 1-2 cm each direction. the weheels, the brakes the steering was checked, its all in god condition, when i changed to oem control arm bushes the trambling is away. Otherwise great job.

Im not sure if this is what you were asking, or if it answers your question. But I've own 2, 740ils the first one i just changed the lower control arms, unfortunately I hit a telephone pole with that one after one of the arms snapped. On the second one which is a bit more sportier, its an 740il, with the complete AC Schnitzer S7 body panels, Exhaust, and interior. this one has bilstein shocks in front and self leveling in the back. Anyway it had the wobble like the other one but worse when i bought it, so not wanting to take any chances, I put the whole front suspension new, new hubs, rotors, and brakes, put new tires, and that the rims balanced. And guess what? The car still slightly wobbles between 55 and 60 mph. I've read a lot on the subject cause I'm a perfectionist, and i still cant get to the bottom of it, some say its inherited, because the car has too much weight on the front end, others say its a matter of year and built. It is annoying thou. Good luck.
