Honestly, the Duel reminds me a bit of the Alex.

This is one of the few gundams that genuinely made me take a second look. This is amazing!

I started into gunpla in January 2023 and MG Duel is my first gunpla I build. Never regret picking it.

I find myself wondering how much of the Assault Shroud would fit on to the Strike, like Full Armor Strike.

just finish my duel mg and face the same problem with the skirt so went back to see the instructions and saw on the drawing that G17 part of the skirt armor has no excess plastic sticking on the side, in which was hindering the peg that attach it to the skirt, remove it and clean it and it does the job of making the skirt armor more secure...compare first the G17 part with the drawing on the instruction and you will see the difference...hope this help...till next time.

hello jabman, I hope you can read this. I just had this kit. the joints connecting the arms to the torso are really, really tight, like if I force it, it would probably break in the near future. did you do any sanding or anything to make it loose up a bit? thanks!

This model looks awesome; I have it sitting in my closet along with several other MG's while I finish something else. However as of now this is my #1 to do kit.

Hey Jabman I recently built this guy and I have to say I love him in either form, however I have found a trick to make him hold the bazooka. He has to be in his regular form with no armor on. You basically get the little piece on the back of the bazooka to be pressed against the grey piece on the shoulder armor and 'pulled' in a sense when the gundam has it's arm forward enough, which will do a good job of locking the bazooka in place. Shake tested it and it didn't budge a little.

Would it be a good idea to put a small amount of clay beneath the buckles of the skirt armor rather than an adhesive? Because an adhesive would be a problem if the unit is painted and wanted to revert back to original or to shroud vice versa.

i know its been 8 years but i find it funny that the 4 yellow orange leg thrusters on the armor arent there and how he slotted the upper backpack the wrong ways and lastly if you want a better fit on the front skirt armor just unplug the ball joints ant attach them while its not on the waist unit.

When i look on strike it comes to my thought that the strike was prototype of the other MS even though that the duel was the base of the other MS. Men that strike makes me think like those zaku blown in the series, maybe the color scheme like unfinish gundam

I can't even get the front skirt to latch on at all and the back skirt (the regular back skirt not with AS) doesn't stay on very well either

im thinking if the dual's front skirt (without the AS) dont hinder the leg movement and needn't be utilized, perhaps glue them in place? that way the connection point for the AS front skirt may become more solidified :3

I'd like to comment that the Strike Noir does use the same Beam Rifle as the Duel. It is in fact the very same model but since the Duel is a newer kit, the details is far superior.

Not a bad kit, I was initially very hesitant about this one since the extra armor pieces made it look a bit clunky, but after seeing your review it actually makes the gundam stand out more. I'm still a bit on the fence with this, or getting the MG Banshee thats due to release in April.

do we need extra coloring to the gundam frame? or it is already included inside the box? thanks

Goddamn it Jabman; I'm trying to budget here. Was trying to keep awway from this, but now... The Duel is probably my favourite of the boy-band; the thrusters and weapons are just too beautiful. Will try to hold off for a HLJ sale though. Will you be getting the Marasai? This is one of "those" kits for me, just like The O was; unlike The O however, this is shaping up to be a good kit. Also, you were saying about decals; I'm guessing there're still no waterslides included?

if u guy are planing to get the hg ver. dont get it if u guys want to paint the orange and black parts instead of sticker and the black,when u put on the assalt shroud you dont get waist articulation,and 2 more thing they do a gun metal inner frame which is ok and the skale is 12cm

it didn't: but in the manga, when Heliopolis was attacked, it was originally included with the Duel, but ZAFT didn't take it because they'd waste time getting it (it was in a different container or something. The Astray gold Frame, instead, got it.

Reason why the frame is similar to the Strike is because Strike and Duel gundam shares the same frame. They're technically brothers.

jabman the bad nubmarks can be removed by using the fine plastic file and run a smooth sand paper to bring back the sheen and removal of the sand lines... although it will make the build looooooong and tiresome

Its great kit. Looks far more militaristic than its old 1/100 NG counterpart. Oh by the they, Aegis is only one from orginal 5 GAT machines that was not based on Duel.

Well the EA did reverse engineer the Assault Shroud Armour, so I guess you could put the EA stickers on it.

All of Bandai's promos for this kit didnt interest me, something seemed off. Seeing your work on this gives me more hope for the future of Seed kits.

Just built this and it's fucking incredible. Really really great detail for a MG, as I was beginning to doubt MG for RG due to detail, but this looks so much like the show and so detailed at the same time. Most of the decals are great, only gripe is so many tiny tiny dry transfers that should have been foils, and the AS skirt armor falls off easily.

87th Master Grade? Dayum. You've dropped like 3.4 grand on MG kits alone.

The entire time you were putting the armor on I had my fingers crossed that they didn't use that absolute shit sticky crap that they used on MG FA Gundam. Thankfully that was not the case, haha.
