The goat? So a person who promulgates lyrics which conduce corruption amid a young individual’s mind, is the Greatest for you? You lack integrity, and so did Chamkila. I am astounded that even though the movie wasn’t a hagiography, and showed both the positive perceptions and the negative ones of chamkila, yet people are so dunce to understand how vicious it is to deliver concupiscence and lust to the public, which also includes teens and children.

@@prodigyy505 Have you really listened to folk songs or seen a nautanki? They are replete with double entendre and at times vulgar lyrics. People of all ages and stages watched such things. Chamikla only brought this genre to the mainstream. Actually his songs entered the urban areas and became national to some extent.

Funfact : Both diljit and parneeti sung those song(of chamkila sir and Amarjot mam) live during shooting... Parneeti gained weight so that she can look like amarjot mam to relate herself Director of this movie clearly wanted diljit to play this role otherwise movie will not be made.

The whole song “tu kya jane mere yaar” is the most beautiful song in recent times ❤… and also it’s one of the few songs which depicts women side of love towards her man , her eagerness to see him , to be close to him , to touch him , all of these emotions were so beautifully captured by the lyrics , music and Pareeniti ❤, there sweet montage of getting closer is heart warming ❤

It's true even today. There is a lot of classism when it comes to taste in music, cinema etc. In india there is a new word called chapri to show you have a superior taste. Chapri is a word to downgrade any popular taste that doesn't align with your idea of high art. Such classist mentality is prevalent all over the world. It's the politics of taste

I think the movie has raised a good point. Like sure these lewd songs are not good for society at large and objectify women, but men (and women as shown in the scene) are singing such songs in private and that's why they struck a chord amongst the public. It raises a question of what's art and what isn't. In some way it's like watching porn: it's not socially acceptable (and even criminal depending on where you are) but there's a reason why so much of the internet traffic is directed towards porn websites 😆

No , I'm a Bangladeshi Muslim woman , that's not true . Muslim men can marry 4 times only if he is divorced previously or his previous wives are agreed with the decision then they can live together as well . But I've never seen that. My own uncle got married twice , he was divorced and both of got remarried and both are happy . Even my present anty was divorced, she married uncle . So it's not like if they wish to marry they cant marry . They need permission from previous wife , if previous wife doesn't give permission his marriage won't be valid in Islamic way . But doesn't know about Sikh religion

Imitiaz Ali wouldn't ever make a movie on the greatest singer and owner of TSeries Mr Gulshan Kumar and how he was murdered in broad daylight. Because it doesn't suit his agenda, what a hypocrite he is! Nobody knows Amar Singh Chamkila outside Punjab (even the younger generation of Punjab doesn't know of Amar Singh) but everybody knows the great Gulshan Kumar. Wonder what Mr Imitiaz Ali has to say of society (or rather section of society) on the brutal murder of Gulshan Kumar who was such a great artist!!
