This movie was originally made in Malayalam in 1993 Shobana was the best in the role of Nagavalli/Manjulika for me in Malayalam.

For people who are fighting based on which is better...it depends on the taste ...i am a malayali..i liked the original version better because it's made from my culture ..also it's a realistic take on psychology and astrology especially shobhana mams acting 🙌...malayalam movies likes to keep it real ...but i loved the Hindi remake too very much ...it's more of an entertainer and the songs are just superb...it's one of the better priyadarshan Hindi films...i think Hindi is the best remake out of all the 4 remakes or so...that too depends on the person..i am wondering how priyadarshan broke all the industry and language barriers at that time... really a Maestro 🙌🙌

watching the ORIGINAL movie since my childhood which is pure epic and also have a cult fanbase and seeing this after that..........maybe because i don't understand Hindi and compared to other remakes hindi remake is far better.......... I was constantly saying no one can match shobhana Mam's acting (still it is a fact ) and while compared to other remakes vidya balan does a commendable job

Mannnn .. this movie was something else 🥲 .. The horror , the comedy .. everything was just so fun to watch ... priyadarshan and AK combo .. Also thanks to Neeraj Vora (OM SHANTI 🥲), the man behind the screenplays and the dialogues of some really iconic movies that we enjoyed in the 2000's ..

This movie is a remake of the Malayalam film "Manichithrathazhu". You should actually watch it with Syntell or something and compare the two. Both are unique in its own way.

May be you culturally relate more. Like the jokes and funny scenes in the movie are fun to watch. Agreed the story is completely copied but acting and funny scenes are the heart of this movie. Also actors we are used to cin more make a impact. Ofc og one will be the best and Noone can replace that but this was fun to watch as well.

Jaby has a rule of watching the original - he did the same when Kabir Singh released. He watched Arjun Reddy as it was the original and said he wont rewatch it in Kabir Singh and then gave his thoughts on the film.

I've watched both versions (the original Malayalam one called Manichitrathazhu and this one) and I personally liked the original one more cuz I felt the acting was much better and it was made to be more scarier than this Hindi version. For the Malayalam one Shobana even won the National Film Award for best actress--and those are some pretty huge shoes to fill for Vidya Balan, but I think she tried her best. FYI Jaby & Achara, the National Film Awards are India's highest/most prestigious film awards :) I'm still glad you guys are reacting to some version of the film nonetheless cuz this Priyadarshan (director) and Akshay Kumar movie combo is some of the best bollywood has to offer :)

Dude I seen manichitrathazhu like zillion times and watched BB like only a couple of times that too when I was a teenager but bruh maybe I had a different mindset back then, I really like BB back in the days but now i feel like this hasn't aged that well and i could still see Manichitrathazhu even today with the same excitement it's such a timeless classic the acting in Manichitrathazhu is infinitly better just only because bollywood is more mainstream the regional one gets ignored

The original original was in Malayalam, if I'm remembering correctly. Edit: yes. Manichithrathazhu came out in 1993 Bhool Bhulaiyaa came out in 2007 Note : I know Jaby was talking about the 2 bhool bhulaiya movies. But since he mentioned it as original, I thought I could throw some light on this information.

Seeing this watch along, I really wish you guys watch the original too. I'm not comparing with bhool bhulaiya but as malayali, I'm really proud of the original movie. It had a really progressive concept but still won the hearts of people. The concept is executed different in both languages according to the viewers interests too.

Bhool Bhulaiyya is a good remake of Malayalam classic 'Manichithrathaazhu .. Malayalam version is considered as cult classic...It's a good decision to react to this remake movie as i think you won't get the momentum or get a good involvement in orginal one.. Malayalam version still tops though

While watching this, I realised that the BGM was nowhere near the spooky one in the original. The bgm in every scene of the original will give you shivers down the spine. Unfortunately, you are going to miss out on that unique experience.

0:06 the story is not original, its a remake of malayalam film. But yes this film has a different fan base bcz the director did some slight change in some of the characters and also the comedy is top class. And also the performance of vidya balan was very good

This was a Very New Concept for Indian watchers. This Movie got so so much Love from Indian Watchers which BHOOL BHULAIYA 2 Can never get. The Way Akshay Kumar played this Role Kartik Aryan can never. The Way Vidhya Balan played the Role of Manjulika, Kiara Advani can never play a small part of it. Bhool Bhulaiya 1 still makes us laugh and scare at the same time that Bhool Bhulaiya 2 can never. 🙂🙂🙂🙌🙌

Hey Jabs, you should probably check out the OG movie Manichithrathazhu (1993). Which was what Bhool Bhulaiyya adapted from. It won National Award for the Best Popular film and Shobhana (the lead actress) won the best Actress award that year.

Can't wait to see the next two parts... This is such an exciting reaction. This movie has a cult following for it's humour and science and occult mixture and leaving open forum for audience to decide how things commenced. Very intelligent writing from an Indian perspective.

@Muhammad Suleman but the hindi version remains attached to the original version not like chandramukhi in which the whole story is changed due to stardom of rajnikant. And the film makers don't even use the original expression on jyothikas face, they used artificial lighting to make it scarier.....

Remake of bolywood is good becoz bolywood has good camera quality ,good actors, cinematography is good.. Make-up artist is good So Bolywood is way better ...

@@harsharajkotian5791 no one gives a damn. Movie is judged by its popularity . Recently t series uploaded BB on youtube . It has already crossed 53 M views. Always the mainstream content with better quality cinematography , better and more famous actors will get the attention. Akki is very well know not only in India but also among foreigners who watch bollywood. Mohanlal otoh is not even a pan India actor. I just came to know about his name after reading rants from u guys .

This one is far better than the new one i can even tell by the trailer .. this one had some good story to it... but the new one is gonna try to shove comedy in each and every scene and there won't be a good story to it....sad

You should be watching the original Malayalam version 'Manichitrathazhu' so that the north audience also knows about it. Hindi version was also good in its own ways but Malayalam was best for sure because of more natural acting.
