I just found this show, the radio version anyway, I listen to a lot of OTR while I sleep, mostly horror shows lol, but then I found this show, and although alot of it is pop culture references we could never understand without really being there, but this show never ceases to make me laugh. I don't care who you are, these people had a formula that predated Seinfeld by 60 years at the earliest, the premise of everyday comedy, and it's timeless for the most part..

My father introduced me to Jack Benny a couple years ago… I saw the Liberace skit where he comes out with a candelabra on the violin and I about fell out of my seat laughing… been hooked ever since

It's interesting how the Frank Nelson character has been reintroduced via The Simpsons, but very few people know the reference.

Why do you need flour for an omelette?
@RSEFX10 ай бұрын
People often add milk or cream and/or a bit of flour to omelettes. Flour to give it "body".

this show is so cute :) . I think he could have been a little more bad ass or shameless in his comedy if he weren't so conventional in his story line and so on :-/ . such a snoozer. It's a little edgier than Lucy though.

@@paulyricca3881 It was considered a gay people's disease, and The Reagans were not interested in recognising or helping that community in any way as it went against their religious beliefs. Though, ironically they used a fortune teller which I believe is also meant to be against their religion, but anyway...

@@WaterShowsProd Who sold you that line of BS? The Reagan administration funded AIDS research massively -- but the easiest means of preventing its spread was unacceptable TO THE LEFT. The Reagan administration also sent a mailer out to ever home in the US with the facts about the disease -- a far, far distance from never making mention of it.

First of all, so-called "Jack Benny" was not his real name. There was absolutely nothing wrong with his birth name Benjamin Kubelsky. Most likely the name change was as the result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager or Studio, with the idea of perceived greater recognition and possible monetary gain?! The business of changing one's birth name is the ultimate insult towards your parents & heritage. The ONLY time a name change should happen is when a woman gets married. If a married women DOESN'T change her last name, then that's an insult to her husband.
@rcrawford429 ай бұрын
It was a stage name. Jack was unlikely to have started with a manager -- he started in vaudeville, travelling.
@KG95516 ай бұрын
What are you on about? Ffs, enjoy the classic comedy and laugh a bit. Sounds like you need it. Oh, and the women of the world don’t give a crap what you think of them deciding or not deciding to change their name. That is all. 👋🏼
@1992marigold5 ай бұрын
@rossmartenak5517 Go check his wikipedia entry. One (he not her as you wrote) was forced to change his name twice because other vaudeville performers had similar names and believed his name would cause confusion among the ticket buyers. Two, his wife changed her name when she went into show business herself!
