10 жыл бұрынJack goes Christmas shopping, where Mel Blanc's tormented salesman has transferred to the Art Supplies dept. this year in hopes of avoiding him. Frank Nelson appears as the floorwalker, of course, and Sheldon Leonard appears again as the racetrack tout.
The Christmas shopping shows were well-established at this point, and the writers seemed to delight in finding new ways for Benny to torment Blanc's salesman each year. This would be the last Christmas shopping episode on radio, but the routine continued on television.

I had this on cassette back in the day, and I still listen to it every year. All of their XMas shopping episodes are hilarious, but this one is golden!

Thank you for this treat, so right for the season. Jack's annual assault on Mel's harried clerk has to be one of the funniest--and darkest--jokes on Holiday commercialism ever.

+firefly1933 I like that Mel's clerk and his wife (Mel Blanc and Bea Benaderet) also played a husband and wife in later life - Barney and Betty Rubble!
