As lovely and poignant as is this live performance, I would urge anyone who enjoys it and hasn't done - listen to Jack's brilliant LP _Harmony Row_ in its entirety. It features an absolutely perfect rendition of this wonderful little song as well as many other gems.

Music is the ultimate time machine. I bought this album (Harmony Row) when it hit the racks in 1971. This song takes me back to such a bittersweet time in my youth. I thank Jack Bruce for the music. He was truly one of a kind.

Some-many- figure Eric Clapton to be one of the greatest of all time... sure, maybe. I don't know that EC has the depth that Jack Bruce had.

What memories..I remember carrying his songs for a tailor album after he left cream to school hoping other dudes would notice yes he was on a different galaxy compared to other musicians like the comment cast adrift fro mm his peers

Jack Bruce was an amazing musician, I was a step away from meeting him (in a queue) at a Bruce Trower gig in Shepherds Bush, London when he was whisked away with Rob. Their lift was waiting. He has been my fav UK blues musician since '66. Robin T a fast 2nd from 68. I dedicate this amazing song to my missing best mate Neil Lewis (Hill Top, West Brom) who I've tried to find for some years!! But what a loss Jack Bruce was! Avril

Harmony Row is a five star classic and I feel was Jack's most personal album full of emotional and lyrical depth.

Absolutely. My little buddies & I were all huge fans of Cream; unfortunately after the breakup, many of them didn't know what to make of this quieter, more introspective music. But for me, it was like my favorite moments from Cream's catalog in full flower - clearly those ideas were coming from Jack! This LP and _Songs for a Tailor_ are 2 of my favorites to this day.

@@jackthetoad885 I think everyone who first heard his solo LP's after Cream were surprised it wasn't more Cream sounding with the horns and more sensitive music and lyrics. His first 2 solo LP's Songs for a Tailor and Harmony Row are both five star classics, Jack Bruce & Pete Brown were an incredible song writing team, RIP to both of them.

Wonderful! From the excellent album Harmony Row which was the first of Jack`s work i heard after the days of Cream. Saw this band live in Hyde Park London around this time.

I've never heard this song before but it's just sublime. Love the words and the unusual melody. I must rediscover Songs from a Tailor and Harmony Row. I thought at first that all of the musicians on this session had now died but Chris Spedding and Art Themen are still alive. What a talent Jack Bruce was.

Jack Bruce died in October of 2014 at age 71. Cause, liver failure. He'd already had a liver transplant, and was a drugger and drinker rocker from the 60's, as nearly all were.

@@jerrylev59 Did you feel defensive for him over the mere mention of facts? Why the "oh well" trope? It's not an issue with me, just part of the facts. His past substance abuse isn't some that I judge. I leave the hate and knee jerk judgementalism _to the Christians._ They are the world experts at hate and self-rightousness. I'm merely reporting facts and don't care how those fact make fanbois fee fees feel. It is what it is.
