Magnifique !!

That's in part because they are all on the same page in how they approach the music, loose relaxed feel while they are in sync with each other. The mark of all great musicians is they are great listeners, they listen very closely to each other, while still being in command of their instrument.

Notice the contrast in the drums : most drummers tune their entire set one way, with close intervals. Not jack... the tiny tom is tune extraordinarily high, like a timbale; the other tom more traditional jazz, while the floor toms are as low as fusion or rock tuning. He likes sustain for his toms, but a dry snare and bass drum. By doing this, he greatly extends the range of pitches available to him.

Matt's thumbs are the key to his guitaristic style (m9 and 4chords); hope they stay strong. What a lineage.. Jack de J. is nicely into it, as he should be. Proper trio interplay: strip it down and get to the heart of the matter. A five piece is like a supertanker. This is turn-on-a-dime jazz improvisation. Like Way out West. and there's always the groove (6.00). Ravi Coltrane should be more famous than he is. He has the deepest knowledge and should have stepped more out of the limelight; imagine Donald J. Coltrane.... lol.. Guarantee Italy to get the deepest art out of hip US performers... Love it thanks for post !
