The first thing I drove was a Massey Ferguson FE35 with no cab on a farm I worked on. Then I moved onto a David Brown 780 Selectomatic and then a Leyland. The first car I drove was a Triumph Dolomite and it felt like driving a rocket compared to tractors. I eventually drove a Land Rover when I was 19. I bought my Landy when I was 23 and have had about 50 Land Rovers since then. Love them or loath them, Land Rover's create memories that last a lifetime!

Jack did a great job that how I learned was out in the field before ever got to the road driving.

I recall my first driving lesson in a Ford F700, while a couple of others loaded small bales. They sorted me out much as you did Jack. Then they told me to let out the clutch to get started, which I did. They just didn't bother to say, "Slowly!" LOL!

Great experience for Jack. I had to wait 40 years until I drove my first Landy. Mind you, I did buy it afterwards. Putting aside the near rebuild of the engine ( it’s a LandRover after all) it’s my pride and joy. And called “Dolly” 😆

Good job teach them when they are young.I drove my first tractor 🚜 when I was about 9 drove the tractor for potato pickers I am 72 now never forgot it was a Fordson major EN27.

The first thing I drove was a Ford 4610 with column change. I remember I used to stand under the steering wheel and pull the gearsticks while standing on the clutch. I was only 5 or 6 at the time

Nice one Rich we learned on an old austin 1100 that our workman had he gave it to us when it failed its mot sadly it only lasted about a fortnight when the big end bearing went good old british cars lol

I must have been about 8 or 9 when I learned to drive. I can't remember whether it was on a Fordson Major or a Massey 165. It didn't take long for me to be promoted to a Ford 7610. Those were the days.

I learned to drive in my primary school parking lot on a weekend. Dodging lamp posts and pulling into parking spots. Mom let us do the stick shift work starting at about 14.

we had a renault 4 van that was my first drive in a car ..... 1978.....still recall how the boss ( dad) gave out to me for stalling it as the battery was weak ...

Yeah, I think tractor before car! Much easier and simpler, I was driving a leyland when I was 6 pulling shief trailers round the field being hand loaded, then got on the major and then the loader and ended up buying my first one at 15, did my tractor test and I still don’t have a car license at 19... 😂😂
