PAC and biggies rhymes are literally elementary compared to some rappers nowadays. Y’all are either want to be old heads, or can’t let go of nostalgia. Tupac and biggie sounds like nursery rhymes to me. Awful shit imo. Earl sweatshirt also wipes all of them, and Earl wasn’t even fucking passionate about what he was writing back in EARL and Doris.

I feel the whole album collectively is a vibe. Been a while since I've felt that way about an album. It's got a Kanye West-ish C.D.O. vibe with a Drake-ish and a few other sneaky influences mixed all together with his flavor mashing it into, like I said before, just a good vibe album. I like the fact that it's only 10 songs. It's not messy, and one track flows into the next very nicely. So I agree, he killed it as far as sound, message, and packaging.

The album didn’t do anything but hit expectations, kept it short to leave you wanting more, had every song just as good as the one before making the album stand out rather than just one song and made it so obviously clear how badly, how determined he is to gain what he wants. Sometimes you gotta do what you want to do instead of what people expect because when we all look back on this they’re gonna see his rapping skills, not his sales.

Arguable. Some would say he already was that superstar for this generation. But with how how he dressed sometimes and his name, people most likely looked passed him until it was too late. On the other hand, we have the 'he could've been' side which is still absolutely true and if he was still alive, we would have had the opportunity to see him grow into his prime. Having rap Vets like Eminem, Lil Dicky, etc giving him props on his abilities to freestyle was something the new generation was lacking and had very few who could freestyle and make sense.

Album wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t “crazy” good idk. When I was in HS Wayne, Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Kanye, Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, and even Mac Miller we’re all dropping mixtapes and albums in their prime years. I feel like they set the bar so high on projects during that era, it’s hard to fully be impressed by a lot of “newer” rappers who are in that lyrical/ hit making hybrid category . Like I said not a bad album by any means, but at the same time it doesn’t give me that feeling where you get the “chills” and knowing there’s a lot of songs with with shelf life that will bring reminiscence. A lot of lyrical verses/lines for sure but it just seems like something is missing. Not sure exactly what it is. Maybe I’m just becoming an old head, but even old heads during my hs years knew rappers like j.cole, Drake, Kendrick, Wayne etc were something special. However I think it is pretty clear that Jack Harlow is here to stay and have an actual run in the game when you compare him to a lot mumble rappers who fizzled out in the 2015-2020 era as well as some of these current day drill rappers who only talk about smoking on opps.

I can't but feel that the sudden announcement was just a smart move by his team but at the same time it leaves a bitter taste and comes off as a cheap public opinion manipulation. Look at the thing from this angle: They realized that the last album didn't perform as expected (it was projected to sell 150-160 k first week and sold 106 k (I don't remember the exact numbers)). As a result, everything good around Jack was slowly vanishing away. Had they done the proper roll out, dropped some singles first, announced the date - and it all wouldn't have resonated with the people (especially singles) - it would've been a wrap for his career. Now, whatever the first week sales may be (except the figures being too small which is quite unlikely to happen), this is a win-win situation for Jack: 1. Sales are higher than expected ("Boy I told you he still got it in him") 2. Sales are lower than expected ("He's done this amount and all without a proper promo? It's a W for him")

A better way to gauge sales is that number times 1.5k gives you a more good number, give or take some sales tho bc some will buy albums, this is bc 1 sale - 1.5k streams if u didn't know.
