Thorough review of the Jack La Lanne Power Juicer Express and comparison to the Breville BJE200xl. LINK TO Jack La Lanne's Power Juicer Express: amzn.to/2VppE5O
LINK TO Breville BJE 200XL: amzn.to/16Ntfet I'm doing the comparison mainly because the Jack La Lanne power juicer claims to yield 30% more juice than other juicers. I chose the Breville bje200xl as a comparison because it is approximately the same price as the Jack LaLanne. They both run about $100.
The motor is 3600 RPMs. It measures 14x12x16 inches. It weighs about 12 pounds. The base has a locking bar which is connected to an auto shut-off switch. The juicer won't start if the bar is not in the correct position. There is an automatic shut off safety feature. If the juicer is jammed or overheats, it will shut down.
Slide the pulp collector towards the base. Put the receptacle on the base with the juicer spout facing the locking bar. The spout should be facing downward. Put the filter and blade inside receptacle, turn it and press down to secure it. Put the lid on top with the pulp guard facing away from the juice spout. Lift locking bar up until it clicks into the grooves. Insert pusher into chute and push gently.
Turn juicer on and let run for 5- 10 seconds to balance the blade.
Cleanup - except for the base, all parts are dishwasher safe. I prefer to wash everything in hot soapy water right after juicing is finished. If you leave the parts in the dishwasher and don't wash it, it'll be much harder for the stuck on vegetable and fruit fibers to be cleaned off.
Both juicers yielded the same amount of juice so the Jack La Lanne's juicer's claim to yield 30% more juice is false.

Good review. There is something called, " Engineered Obsolescence" in many products today. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and I watched Jack LaLanne on black and white TV as I grew up. I have an original Jack LaLanne juicer. It is still going strong. That is a testament to it's quality, reliability, workmanship and longevity. IT WAS BUILT TO LAST.

Finally someone who weighs the fruit when doing these comparisons. (How else would you know if there is more juice in one apple than other?) However, the comparison is still not scientific enough. The Breville creates a lot more air when juicing, so you have to stir it, let the air leave it, then compare. (I have both juicers). The additional air the Breville creates is not a good thing - it means oxidation which means lower nutritional value.

I saw a video where someone had the idea to put an empty grocery trash bag inside the plastic container to catch the pulp...Just lift the plastic bag out and throw away once you're done w/juicing..easier cleanup..

In all fairness to the Jack Lalanne juicer, they have improved the juicer by redesigning it with a 2 speed motor, the higher speed is for carrots, beets, celery, and even whole apples. Yes, WHOLE apples. The spout has also been redesigned where you can rotate it up to prevent dripping as well. The 100th Anniversary edition can be purchased at Walmart for $70 US. My wife and I bought ours tonight and we tried some whole apples in it, (medium sized), and they fit in the chute and cut up just fine. (I tried 6 of them, and the last 2 I put in using the high speed setting, and they cut up a bit easier. It didn't take me much effort to push the apple into the blade where it practically fed itself once it made contact.) In your video, the model that you have clearly struggled to keep up with the Breville, but I would like to see the apples sliced to the same size in the Jack Lalanne juicer as you did with the Breville Juicer. Perhaps your juicer would perform better and maybe even as well as the Breville Juicer? All in all, your video is very informative.

I have the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer and i love it. Was thinking about upgrading to the Breville because I like the higher spout but when I checked it out at the store the juice filter is quite smaller than JLLPJ. I suspect it needs more cleaing in between juicing large amounts of fruits and veggies compared to JLLPJ. Can you confirm if this is so?

Sam 1 In fact, she is overloading the Jack LaLanne, she should read the instruction manual before use it, it's better to put in the fruits one by one. 05:35 She push the fruit so hard, she should push and pull it, or she is forcing the blade down. 08:13 She turn off the Jack LaLanne just after using it, when in the manual it says you must wait untill it stops and then you turn it off. Damn, what a bad review. She MUST read the instruction manual before using anything...

I've used both but i didn't have the jamming problem either on the jack la lane also it sounded like your blade was off on it like if it wasn't re-aligned after you took it apart for how to put together also the express is smaller so it makes less juice the older model makes a little more juice then both of those and it runs around the same price also that breville model waste alot of the pulp if it mushes your wasting money on any kind of juicer.

I've had the Breville Juicer for 4 years, and the only complaint I have is that when I'm doing large juicing sessions (2 gallons of juice for a detox cleanse) I have to constanty stop juicing to clean out the round pulp collector (which is why it came with its own special cleaning tool which I lost). I saw a Jack Lalanne juicer at a yard sale and almost bought it because of the easy dump pulp collector. After seeing this comparison I think my Breville is more powerful.

I disagree about the spout on the PJE. It’s relatively easy to clean. The way she described it as being too labor intensive it’s not. There are no screws to unscrew. Removal for cleaning is easy. You just turn a washer to unlock the spout and it removes easily for cleaning.

Thanks for doing the review. I had a Jack LaLanne juicer about 10 years ago. It died. I recently purchased a new Fusion Juicer. HATE IT. So difficult to put together. 99 percent plastic. I actually cut myself on the plastic...yes plastic! cleaning the juicer. The quality of the juicer has gone WAY down. I wish I had seen your review. I am definitely buying a Beville next time. So disappointed with the juicer. Thanks for the review.

While I appreciate this review (and she's rather pretty) I have to disagree with some points on the Power Juicer Express. No it's not going to rip through produce like the higher powered Breville, as the PJE is 250 watts, but it's not designed too. The filter/blade is very easy to remove from the machine and cleaning any juicer if done immediately after juicing is relatively easy. A firm pull removes the components for easier washing. As to the juicer getting jammed, again it's 250 watts of power, so it will take longer to juice as you can not pack produce in it like the Breville. BUT...I find if I use leafy greens and follow them with harder produce like cucumbers or carrots they juice just fine, just be patient as it will take a little longer. Also I find less foam with my PJE and because of the lower powered motor it's my theory that the less heat production will produce a juice with high nutrition. Any juicing is better then no juicing but I own 3 juicers but always go back to my PJE...happy juicing.
