Bill Hickok was shot in the Back through the window during he play poker and sitting with his back to the window...this movie is historicly incorrect....

That's entertainment... if you want some history lesson watch a documentary...! Many westerns are beginning with "based upon true facts" or similar but most of the time they are pure baloney... They can be good and even excellent though but rarely historically accurate wether on the facts or the props (cavalry using winchester instead of springfield, Colt SA 1873 in 1860s films etc. Fact vs fiction is as old as the western, John Ford being one of the genre Masters was an inveterate liar and he has always played with it from My Darling Clementine to Liberty Valance pretending his stories followed the historical facts... I don’t mind Hollywood presenting an historically inaccurate picture as they are not producing documentaries but entertaining dramas. It’s only when they claim factual accuracy that I may object.

Hickok was not shot though a window. McCall entered the saloon and shot him in the back of the head. McCall was acquitted by a miners’ court, but was later tried again in a criminal court and hanged.
