I watched this a few years ago and was surprised at how good it was. Not sure why I never heard of it before as I was an avid cinema goer for most of my life. Tom Cruise is good in whatever he's in.

I watched it years ago, and yesterday finished the book - One Shot which it is based on. The film is great and the book is not better. I might even consider the film better optimised. I do understand Tom Cruise might not fit the description of the Reacher character, but it doesn't hurt the film as a standalone, especially if one is not a purist.

@@Droidd1993 yes, I've just watched the first season, and i must say that the tv show is much closer to the original Lee child novel books than the Tom cruise movie. The original jack Reacher in novels is very tall and the tv is more accurate than the movie.

This was a very good movie. I know Cruise doesn't fit the description of Reacher (size wise as in the books) but it's really well done. The new series with a different actor is also good.

I've been reading the books. They're reeeeaaally good. You're right, tom cruise physically isn't jack reacher, BUT playing the part....its just how he is in the books. Acting like jack reacher he's really good....
