Can't believe the level of ignorance in this comment section. I can't believe some people seriously think the foxes are harmless! Admittedly they do have different personalities and there are scavengers and there are killers but I've seen first hand, year in year out, the torrent of foxes flooding to the lambing fields for an easy meal. On a friends farm a constant fox patrol through the night would be very welcome as at least 1 or 2 lambs get snatched up every night of the lambing with very clear signs of fox predation.

Have you considered a livestock guardian dog? They live with the herd and protect them 24/7. It'd certainly save you a lot of hassle and give you piece of mind.

I'm sorry I'm an animal lover of all shapes & sizes & some of the things iv just watched have turned my stomach. if fox/badger/rabbit woteva makes it to ground then leave it alone. we all protect our homes.

When your hungry we eat ,foxes do the same ,they aren't bothered if it's lamb's or not ,they cost farmers and estates a lot of money ,so all these people that say they don't ,well take it from me and any other guy's that have saw what they do ,they cost money ,money that farmers and estates need to keep them ticking over ,a problem fox need to be dealt with .

Ive been hunting fox for years and never come across or ever known a fox take lambs to ground or any food for that matter.

Plenty of videos around of people killing foxes. I've yet to see a video of foxes killing lambs. I live in a sheep farming area and no one here has ever lost a lamb to a fox, and we have plenty of foxes here too.

Yes, I have spent time there. I grew up working on cattle/sheep ranches in the Western US. I killed a fair share of coyotes, a couple of mountain lions(who decided to hunt together, bad news) and a couple of old bears who couldn't hunt anymore. However, I never personally witnessed a single predator take a cow or sheep. I am certain that there has been and will be predation of domestic livestock, but the problem is humans believing they own and are entitled to every square inch of this planet and continue to encroach and destroy wildlife habitat. We did lose some animals, but the cause of death can be difficult to determine. We also had wonderful dogs that were great at protecting the herds. I know Scotland is/was famous for their sheep herding dogs, but if you are losing livestock, perhaps try a couple of LGD dogs, that have been successfully protecting livestock for centuries. There are so many good breeds out there and they can take care of any tiny little Scotish foxes.
