Actually Geoff and most of the members of Voice Play have all worked for Disney at one time or another. Mostly in the park doing live performances. Geoff hasn't taken any offers for record/movie deals because it's said he loves what he's doing and where he's at. He has complete control over his content and how it's done

VP has done 4 songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas over the years. Between Geoff and Voiceplay the Halloween playlist is long and wonderful.

You're going headfirst down the Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay rabbit hole. Welcome and enjoy the ride. Geoff and his wife Kathy did a great job on this set. Most of it is from their home & yard decor. Kathy said that this gave Geoff the needed excuse to buy more pumpkins.

Kathy is his wife and she was operating Zero. Most of the props were from Geoff and Kathy's house since they go all out at Halloween. Almost all of the members of VoicePlay have worked at Disney and/or Universal over the years. They learned a lot about pleasing audiences and applied what they learned to all of their own videos.

Most of the decor came from Geoff’s house, with stock from PattyCake Productions. Halloween is the favorite holiday of both VoicePlay and Geoff. Each year VoicePlay has put out in a spooky season release. They aren’t all specifically Halloween but they all have something sort of spooky about them. They previously covered four songs from Nightmare before Christmas; What’s This, Kidnap the Sandy Claws, This is Halloween and, of course, the famous Oogie Boogie song. This years Jack’s Lament by Geoff is my favorite, and it has stiff competition. Last year they did DingDong/Hide and Seek with Lauren Paley who made this song viral by singing it in her stairwell to scare her neighbors. They have also done Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, and I’ve Got Friends on the Other Side from Disney’s Princess and the Frog. They also have two versions of Grim Grinning Ghosts from Disney’s haunted mansion. One while they were backstage between sets which is performed live. In the other they are the singing busts from the mansion. There is also a very old cover of Once Upon a Dream, I think done about the time the second Maleficent movie was released, that is haunting. Although not specifically Halloween last year they also did in the Hall of the Mountain King from the Peer Gynt suite. It’s a classical orchestral piece with no words. But they told a story anyway of a group of trolls surrounding a cauldron adding a new ingredient each time they wanted their voices to change. It’s pretty amazing. VoicePlay just released their 2023 cover. The song is dramatic and haunting and creepy and beautiful. Geoff once again is playing a dual personality. The song is powerful and disturbing at the same time and the cover is brilliant!

Haunted Mansion ride has been at Disney for over 50 years. The movie was made way after. Voiceplay also did 4 other Nightmare Before Christmas videos.... This is Halloween. What's This. Kidnap The Sandy Claws. Oogie Boogie (Geoff is Oogie in this one).

He has a 5 octave range. He used to work at Disney World. He met his wife there. Listen to the last line on Oogie Boogie Song with Voice Play to hear the whole range. Watch Voice Play's cover of Ding Dong. You'll love it!

I enjoyed your different expressions when watching the video. Taylor like: "Woo, he's doing great on this part!" Stephen like: "WTF is he doing? That's a strange song..." 🤣 - fully understandable if one doesn't know the movie! 😇💀🎃 In Germany Halloween isn't yet such a big thing. It grows its importance as "not only on 31st Oct." year by year, but when "The Nightmare Before Christmas" came out (1993), it hadn't the big impact as in the US and it is still not THE Halloween movie everyone knows. Personally, I would say, it's not necessarily a movie you have to like, but it's definitely one of those movies, you have to see. So I wish you much fun when watching it together this year! I can't watch it anymore without hearing the VP & Geoff covers in my inner ear... 🤩

I am not sure you will see this but I think you should check out VoicePlay's cover of Butter. It is so good. The vocals are terrific as usual but the lunacy going on the background will have you watching it several times just to catch everything. You can tell the guys enjoy each other's company. In fact, many of their videos have lots of humor. The guys even try to crack each other up regularly. 😂 plus, you need to meet the carrot 🥕 king. 😂

You get a thumbs up just for dad jokes 😏 The Haunted Mansion is now 2 movies, actually. Yup, it's "luh-MENT". And you know the background voices are all Geoff, too, right? He sings high background so his bass can take center stage. No one ever mentions that his hands are completely made up - I've never seen anyone do the underside, before. My opinion: Jack as a Gray Fox is the coooolest.💀👻🧊🎃

please, what is it with Americans and the word lament? It's not LAYment, it's laMENT. Geoff has a five octave range, but he doesn't always use all of it of course.
