Being reasonable, calm and cold as ice is actually 10x more scary than someone who's fired up, angry beyond belief and lost control. An angry person will make mistakes. But if the calm collected person has it out for you, you better realize he's thought out every second of how he's deleting you and covering it up. If Jack was such a calm person in real life, it was probably one of the reasons behind him never being caught.

A really interesting thing someone pointed out to me: They emphasize that in order to form volund they need to join their hearts. Jack scaring her was not what caused the volund to activate, it only activated after Brunhilde refused to help her sister. This implies that the emotion that joined their hearts together was not fear, but betrayal.

Yes the color jack always wants to see in his victims is the gray with red veins. The purple is fear, then it turns into despair which is a better word for the emotion they experience

When I first realised Jack the Ripper was going to fight next, I was a bit sceptic why a serial killer would fight for humanity. But as I watched he turned into a very intresting and well written character, and the fight is probably my favorite.

SPOILER in a manga spin-off featuring Jack the Ripper, we learn that the man who was introduced as Jack the Ripper isn't the real historical serial killer after all, instead, this man is simply called Mr. Anonymous by Brunhilde, and it was revealed that he had killed the real Jack the Ripper early on and assumed his identity for the Ragnarok tournament, Mr. Anonymous asked to be introduced as Jack the Ripper and while he was alive as a human in Victorian England, Mr. Anonynous was like an assassin from the assassin's creed games, he was trying to take down a secret society of nobles that seemed to rule over England more so than the actual parliament
