I still watch Dragnet and the other two shows Jack produced and directed, Adam 12 and Emergency as well as Harry Morgan on MASH almost every day on the MeTV television network. Some may not realize Detectives Joe Friday and Frank Gannon wore the same suit on most episodes to help keep wardrobe cost down. They also used the same 20 or so actors on all the episodes including actors from Adam 12 and Emergency. RIP Jack and Harry and most of the cast

Not quite. Dragnet ended in 1959 and MASH started in ‘77. Harry Morgan came on the show in 1980. Now I may be wrong about all this, but I googled it! Having said that, he doesn’t look 21 years older than he did in this clip. But then he always looked the same.

What really happened is after coming home from Korea Sherman Potter decided he'd had enough of medicine and wanted a serious life change. So he changed his name, moved to LA, and joined the LAPD eventually becoming a detective.

I'm British. British humour is a lot different to American humour and I never really took to American stand up comedians. The one exception however was Jack Benny. I thought he was great. Just the way he stood there and his facial expressions plus his often dead pan delivery of great material was simply marvelous and exccedingly funny. I don't know too much about him, but he seemed a really decent stand up guy and I would think him to be exactly the opposite of mean in real life.

He was a decent, stand up guy ... good husband & father ... set up an award for comedians (Johnny Carson won one), donated his papers to UCLA, arranged for flowers to be set on regular basis to his widow, was the first person to have a African American appearing on a weekly show ... no one has a word to say against him ...
