I saw him in London two days after this. He was eye wateringly good. One of the best gigs of my life, and I'm old. He is a gent and a true professional. It was a phone free gig. Your phone went into a mystical pouch you couldn't open. Everyone was fully engaged which added pure magic and intensity to the night. I wish all gigs were phone free.

I was in London on Wednesday 29th July and saw this dude with blue hair walking around the Chelsea area. Then I realised it was Jack White. I wanted to approach and tell him that I loved his music, but chickened out. Kind of wished I did approach him now lol. When and where abouts did he play in London?

Yeah they have such a “call and answer” element to their playing. D-Jones is a phenomenal drummer and coupled with the dissonant notes/chords jack throws into his playing they create such a raw and sometimes jarring and exciting sound over what are great but simple melodies. I hope they keep putting music out together they rock

That's how i believe musical doors are opened, to new sounds and great music I think in a recent interview i watched with Jack, he said as much, in so many words! ;) Btw, this drummer, looks like he's about to beat the set into the ground! My era is prior to this. I was blooded on bands like Sabbath and Zeppelin and being born in 1965 I do have recollections of the Beatles and all those glorious 60s bands. A lot of people are slagging of jack's playing in this video but I think they're missing the point. I don't think he's trying to give the impression that he's a virtuoso player, I feel he's trying to tap into the spirit and raw emotion of blues rock and I think he's doing a good job. You'll struggle to find a live recording of Hendrix playing in tune and Jimmy Page was sloppy at times but that's what gave the music life and excitement. The music became fire. It was unpredictable and couldn't be completely controlled. I don't think Jack White is pretending to be Hendrix or Page, I think he's just tapping into their wavelength. If that's not what you're looking for there are hundreds of sterile, over-saturated, auto-tuned, choreographed to death manufactured bands out there to listen to instead.

Why Aren't the crowd Going INSANE???? PLEASE tell me, this is quintessential, grade A, hard core rock n roll Blues. This is a masterpiece, the drummer and Jack and everyone contributing using their souls dancing on f*cking strings.... They're so lucky to have experienced real, visceral blues music

Plays half his solo in the wrong key, punches you in the back of the neck like most guitarists wish they could. Dude's still throwing his fastball.

Nice the hear a ‘real Hammond’ and not a Nord or a Hammond xk3c or Xk5 digital - which still does not cut the mustard. Jack is really original. What a performance.

@@loganbarker442 So, that new guitar he's playing actually has a pitch shift function built into it. He demo'ed it on a video recently and it's a neat feature. However, as we can see here - the unintended consequences of not moving it back up to correct pitch when soloing can be catastrophic if you're not Jack White, haha
@florislok

A guitar with a pitch shift function? He better use a normal guitar cause that first solo was terribly out of key.

Not for me, I’m pretty good at rhythm, but I suck at soloing.
