as someone who has a dad who collects and sells small model cars, (8 glass closets full of cars, those are the ones he keeps. and uncountable amounts of boxes full of cars, those are the ones he sells) i can say you probably got your money's worth. from all the little details and all the things being able to open, to it being a collectors item aswell.

U actually get a tool to open the doors but tesla only happens to give it on the model x diecast, not available for model 3 or s sadly. The tool is REALLY helpfull just so u dont break anything. Also you can open the frunk, trunk and the doors easy with this tool... Without this you can't open the frunk.

Jack, dual motor doesn't necessarily mean it's 4 wheel drive, it means that there's 2 motors shared between 2 axles (front and back). In Tesla's they work together but can disengage one

As someone who collects 1:18 scale die-cast, that was 100% worth how much you paid. And honestly I would have expected it to be more expensive than it was.

As a diecast collector myself I don't think it's a bad value but it's not great. Lots of detail and collectible means it could be worth the money, but it didn't come with any glass case or display items in the packaging was pretty naff.

My heart nearly stopped when he opened the door using the wing mirror. You have to be super careful with these models because 1) They're very expensive and 2) They're meant to just sit on the shelves of adult collectors and not to played with, so they can be quite fragile. I have a couple of relatively expensive 1:18 models and every single one of them came with a little plastic tool to be used while opening the doors and stuff. Some models even come with gloves to prevent fingerprints on the paint. Shame Tesla doesn't go to such lengths (except for the Model X), especially since their door handles being flush with body makes it quite hard to open them. Also, I'm very surprised that this model isn't screwed onto the box. Literally every other collectible model that i've ever come across, regardless of scale and price, is screwed to a little plaque or to the styrofoam itself.

Great video! Interesting detail about no screws. Since their white version has dark seats, I was thinking of getting two and swapping the interior so I could match mine. But if no screws are visible, that probably won’t work… Still want one, though!

You can also use a one head screw driver to open the door by sticking it in the door gaps.

Fun fact: I have model corvettes the same size as Jack's model car and some that I have are more realistic and better quality and have almost every feature the tesla does. Only cost about $40.

I do collect cars i have this Tesla 3 and i also buyed an Tesla X that came with a tool which can easily open the frunk and the trunk which is very useful

That's dope! Next time use a Razorblade, that'll be much easier and much more precise + You'll be able to cut it more after it's been wrapped, so things like the excess wrap around the wheels wouldn't be a problem. 😉

And yes the model X comes with it's own opening tool. As well as a clip to hold the back doors open. Also, you can take it apart. You just didn't know how lol

It is expensive for a toy, buy it does look very high quality, and imagine if you had this as the family car and you got this as a gift for your child, that would be so cool. I think based on the quality and accuracy it’s probably worth the price.
