Each denom is a different game in the game and if you read the game rules, the higher your bet size, the higher your chances increase for the bigger prizes.

If you have played on a high denom for a while and haven't won anything significant, dropping your denom down often helps to trigger a bonus or line hit. I don't stay on a denom for more than 15 spins if those spins are dead spins.
